Yep but not that extreme.  Trial and error first to get the file nail kick to clear.  Then bend enough to give both tools the right snap.

I've been busy working away and realized I hadnt posted the last bunch.   I wont spam with too many pics, so just a couple of pics from each of them.  People are starting to request some bare Ti with brass/copper crosses and I really like the look of those.

So many Beautiful Mods in this thread! I'm always amazed how far you've come from the early pages of this thread.

I have a question, way back in November you teased that you were prototyping 'snap on' 91mm scales.
Did you ever go any further down the road with that?

I think that a set of simple (I'd prefer stonewashed) TI scales would look awesome on something like a standard huntsman or climber. Have you considered perhaps just selling scales that buyers could self apply, I can see this as a nice way to find a balance between owning a standard SAK and the works of art you are currently making for those of us on a budget.

Yup I made a set.  Completely hated them.  The SAK felt so bulky with the outer liners left on and with the same construction, it didnt get any of the frame stiffening benefit of the conversions to Ti frame at all.

I spend 3 bucks a month for photobucket and I guess that doesn't get me 100% up time.  Oh well it looks like it's working again.

That's a shame, thanks for answering though.
Looks like I'm going to have to start saving for a proper Syph Mod then ;)

Alox or Ti?

Ive got one set of black alox marlin scales and the bits to build some version of a marlin spike.  Ti scales are easy enough to make its the alox parts that were the pain to get.

Its not too many times I get to show a new configuration... but here it one.  First time ever, have I done this one.  Both phillips and corkscrew on the back of a SAK with only one scale cutout. ( I did this once ages ago with 2 scale cutouts).

As you can see there was just barely enough space and the phillips needed to take the space under the saw layer too, so I had to put a little stub piece in there to tension the saw spring.

Nevermind. :like:
