Great craftsmanship sir!! If you want to cut down on the rattle, use some kaizen foam.

https://www.fastcap.com/estore/pc/Kaizen-Foam-p13435.htm

Not affiliated in anyway to Fastcap, it was just the first link that appeared on google.

Ah great idea.  I was thinking weather stripping, but kaizen is exactly the solution.  For me I dont think id care but I know some people would be annoyed by the sound.

Imagine the look on some peoples faces as they try to track down the rattle.  :D

You could drill a hole in one scale where the small pen could be injected when writing.

While I love Wengers, I wish they had the smaller screwdriver tip on the can opener.   I use that A LOT!

I don't really like backside tools either.

Ha they do now that Vic put their openers in a Wenger and called it a delemont.  It's odd looking to me though.

Hey Syph,

Just out of curiosity, if you have a mo. And I hope my question is not too dumb  :o
How does the Tormach cut the pin for the drawer ???

Do you have a special bit with a hollow centre, that cuts the pin? - Or do you program a regular bit to cut around in a circle? - Or some other kind of magic??

Thanks

Just regular end mills that cut around the perimeter of the pin.  I only have 4 bits I use routinely.  2 flat end Mills and 2 ball nose.  The round over of the scales is done with a large ball nose in multiple passes.

Put some thrust bearings on either side of a SAK = Syph Custom Ti Fidget Spinner SAK. I (very badly) fidget by rotating any kind of thing between my fingers and so came this stupid idea. They are not for me though as I came to realize that a blade much larger than a SAK is a fidget toy to me (my opinion based on my blade needs), all I do with my 910 is open and close it. Enough ranting, sorry for the thread hijacking.

That last one had the longest pivots Ive ever used.  1.2 inches.  Something like a super tinker is 0.4 inch.  :D

Speaking of super tinker, they are still popular too.  :D  I am quite lucky to be able to do this as a job.  Still seems weird if I explain what I do to someone else.  Um make fancy swiss army knives... well no I dont make the knives.. I customize them...

I just had an idea a few moments ago, what about some kind of using the Leatherman Wave small screwdriver instead of the Vic one on models without corkscrew, with a kind of groove in the inside of the scale to fix it and store it in your scale box ?
Meet me also on youtube & instagram for mostly knives (and multitools) content

A friend modded the mini sd and replaced the sd with that of Vic's. Will try to replicate it once I have the fodder parts...

Any updates on how are the scale drawers holding up since you released them in to the wild?  :pok:

Well, that at least means there are no serious issues with the design.

The scale drawer on my Cybertool 41 has been in daily use since I received it.  The drawer shows no signs of developing play on any axis and works as smoothly today as it did when I received it.  The closure mechanism also seems to be working just as well now as it did when Bob sent it - the snap of closure is quite decisive.  I guess Bob nailed the dimensions perfectly.

Glad to hear it!  The idea of it stewed in my brain for quite some time and I just couldnt think of any other way to do it, while keeping it simple.

Yesterdays build was also a drawer build.  Still thinner than a standard compact BTW.
