Look what arrived here just minutes ago! Thanks again, Bob!

To my big surprise this knife is not as wide as an actual Camper, even though there´s an extra layer. Weight 104.3 grams (3.68 oz).

Nice!

Ya the scales I use are thinner than stock and dropping the outer liners makes a huge difference.

Would a Titanium bit holder for a custom Cybertool be out of the question? Bronze could work too, right? Imagine how beautiful it would look.  :dd:

What if there was also a deeper drawer, to store extra bits?  :o

Ya that could work.  Material that thick is very expensive, thats the only downside.   Although Id have to make a bit holder from 2 halves anyhow I think and join together as Id have no way to machine hex shaped holes that deep.

You need to get a broaching machine. :pok:

Or start die casting. :pok:

Plunge EDM is the way to go if I wanted to make it one piece but I've got no interest in using 3rd party anything anymore if I can help it.

I can machine hexes that work as hexes with 1/32 bits but I can only go about 1/4 inch deep.  That would let me make a driver but not something so deep that could store the bits.

Is there a reason you flip the scissors and the mag layers on the yeoman?

Modern phillips would hit the scale.

Thanks guys, that makes a lot of sense I’ll have to try it out on one of my next builds.

The talk and anticipation and the pics about the MTO Pioneer X have led to a certain craving for an Alox 93 mm SAK (colour yet to be determined, but preferably other than just silver) with a few more tools than the PX - this must be down to a predilection for the Swisschamp, I simply feel naked with too few tools on a SAK.

I'd start building from a PX (but don't - yet - want to sacrifice the MTO one soon to arrive :D). As add ons, for instance, a saw would be nice (Farmer?). Pliers, a magnifying glass and a Phillips too (the latter I'd have to source from a 91 mm model, I take it - correct?).

What I'm leaning towards is to mod the pivots to screw-fixed ones like I have seen Syph007 use. I take it the stock PX has 3 mm pivots outside and 2.5 mm inside. Does the mod maintain these sizes, or enlarge them? I have seen references to 1/8" pivots - are there alternatives (preferably sources closer to home in the EU) e.g. 3 mm (and preferably 2.5 inner)?

Sorry if these questions have been asked before, I couldn't quickly find the answers.

Edit: corrected 1/4 to 1/8" (I claim lack of familiarity with imperial units :D)

Everyone seems to use 3.2mm (1/8") screw pivots, and yes, the holes have to be expanded.  :ahhh
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

What Pablo said, unless you can make your own.  In order to add the philips/magnifier layer you'll need a Pioneer blade spring, and for the pliers you'll need two Farmer saw springs.  So to make a Pioneer X + pliers + saw + philips/magnifier (Alox Deluxe Woodsman maybe?) you'll need a Pioneer X and three Farmers, plus the donor for the other tools such as a Swiss Champ...

Needing so many donors is why I don't do the 93 work anymore.
