Nice subdued, almost stealthy look with those grey liners. How were these made - anodised?

PS did the repairs go well?

I believe they're tumbled sandblasted.

Can not, at the moment, give further information on the status on Syph's machine, as it belongs to him and not me.

Tumbled in cermics makes Ti go dark like that.  Really durable finish too since it surface hardens the Ti.

It was only a 10 minute job to swap in the new controller part and I was back up and running.  It must be a newer model as it has better control than the old one.  When I turned off the spindle before it would free spin for about a half minute but now it stops almost immediately.  Probably a safety upgrade.

I had thought you were only doing sandblasting, due to the time it took to tumble.  ???

I did a new mod today... no really I did and it was on a 93mm

Customers asked if I can put a mag glass in place of can opener.  I said nope its too wide... then I thought well the glass part isnt as wide as the tool...hmmm could I make a smaller brass mag holder to work?  Turns out yes.  Only caveat is that i had to put that layer in the middle so the nicks were accessible but since the can opener is banished that layer didnt need to be on the outer edge any longer.

Couple more.

Now what to call a pioneer x with magnifier in place of can opener?  Not really an explorer variant since it has no phillips.  So maybe the Pioneer Sleuth?

Very nice!!!

I am another that has no use for a can opener. I like the screwdriver blade on the opener though. I need to find someone (hint hint) that could make a tool to go in that place that is a sturdy screwdriver with the side of said tool turned into a nail file. That would probably be my perfect tool. A Pioneer X with file/screwdriver replacing the can opener/screwdriver.
