New part time again, this time Im working on a comb that can work with the saw layer backspring.  The part that hits the rest area and nail nick needs some more thought still though, but over all it should work.

(Image removed from quote.)

In other news Im doing an interview with the site knifenews that should be published next week.  :tu:  They want to know all about custom SAKs.  :D
The comb looks fantastic!  Can't wait to see the finished product!

Congrats, Syph! Let us know when it's up- we'll leave all kind of helpful, supporting commentary and character references in the comments.

I vote ferret, but if you'll come up with an "angry honey badger" I'll be buying.  :tu:

Great article Mr. Lessard.- I really like what they, or you, did to that first photo - Very nice!!

Here's to a large spike in the order book!   :salute:

One minor gripe with the article:
"He takes the basic chassis provided in off-the-shelf Victorinox models and turns them into unique, customized pocket tools"

To me - It's the chassis that you throw away - ie the frame - which is the liners, scales and construction method ie the pins!!
I would have said "He takes the tools provided......"
But I guess chassis could mean the springs and tools   ???   - But no harm done, as it's clear what you do, once you have read the article  :pok:

Oh and a shame we did  not get one more shot of one of your "monstrosities"    :tu:    :D

If you've been following my moddin' since the early days you might remember I did a donation to knife rights way back in 2013.

http://us.kniferights.org/2013prizes/lessard2013.htm

Doug Ritter who runs knife rights asked if Id be willing to contribute again this year.  My last one was before I even had a CNC machine and did everything with files and sandpaper!

So I eagerly said yes and will have to come up with something fancy to donate for 2018.  Note they are also working with whomever they can to address the new Canadian border ridiculousness on 'fickable knives'  While this doesn't effect me with SAK work, its absolutely something I want to support in any way I can.  :tu:

Knife Rights is such a great organization.  I've met and chatted with Doug many times, and he's a great guy who is truly passionate about changing knife laws for the better.  Todd Rathner, their lobbyist, is a good friend of mine who single-handedly got switchblades and other previously-illegal knives legalized in Texas and all across the United States.  I'm sure you'll come up with something amazing to contribute, Robert!

Wow!  I saw a picture of one if the skeletonized Ti compacts on Facebook and shot Robert an email last week.  Now, this weekend I found this thread, and just got through the whole thing.  Its a bit funny, I think in the last 72 hours I've gone through at least three different models and at least a dozen different tool configurations as my preference, as he went from Alox 93mm to primarily Ti 91mm and all the new ideas and models he came up with over the last 6 years.

Now I'm not even sure WHAT I would want exactly.  Guess I need to rotate my current stock and see what makes the cut (and what I'm missing).
