You know I think it would be possible to put both large knives in one layer, with a thicker than normal spring... that and scissors added I think would be just right for me.  The nice thing about building SAKs for others is I get to try alot of combinations and see what I like best for my own builds.

I'd be really interested to see which mods you have built for your own use. :)

That is a very good question. :2tu:

I have lots in the 'to build' stage, one with the wenger universal wrench, one with a cybertool driver, but I usually build customer knives ahead of mine, so I havnet got to mine yet.   The only one I have is a standard red urban pioneer right now.  Eventually I'll get the other cool ones together though.

It feels like I have a million things going on, but Im trying to make progress on all fronts at least.  I've been wanting to do a BO run for ages to see how that goes and I finally finished prepping all the parts for a test run.

Here's the before shot, hopefully the after one turns out. :D

(Image removed from quote.)

BO is in the house! And Im happy to say the after shot is good, and the process was perfect! He told me he has a secret process to BO stainless better than others and he wasnt lying.  This BO is much nicer than the BO I had on a stock Vic blackout model.

Its hard to get a good picture, but here is a stock vs BO blade.  The flash makes the BO look lighter than it is in person.

Here's some shots of BO parts posing with orange cerakote scales and some stock stainless blades for reference.

Here's what a BO'd swisstool corkscrew looks like.  Mister tattoosteve wanted this.

Here's a BO'd pocketwrench II next to a stock one.  This one is Eric's.

I cant wait to build an orange scaled / BO mod now. :D :D :D

Cheers!

I can't wait to see what you do with the BO.

Its getting matched up with some black hard anodize scales for some all black models... then a few guys ordered the orange cerakote with BO tools... then... Ive got 2 new colors coming in (cerakote ones) in a few weeks that are going to be something never seen before in an alox SAK. :D  I've been patiently waiting to unveil these two new ones.

Ok all done.  I dopped the saw for this build to keep it a 3 layer.  This thing is sweet though.  I really havent been a big BO fan on most things but Im loving this BO look with the orange.

I took a bunch of pics as I am pretty excited about this one. :D

It's missing the keyring  :twak:

I havent figured out a way to make that part yet.  The normal nickel silver one wont BO.. and if I made it out of aluminum to HAIII it wouldnt be strong enough.  So I'll have to track down some steel 0.040 if that is even a size that exsits, and make some for a future BO run.  For how the blackout will have to have no carry, or pocket clip carry.  Well I could put on the stock silver one but it would look out of place I think.

I´m quite happy the Alox Bug has not bitten me, It would be another expensive side to my hobby.

Tremendous work. Thanks for sharing.

Did you purchase BO fastener screws or did you put them through the same process as the tool and back spring components?

They are still as sharp as they were when I sent them.  They'd probably look good with a quick sharpen though to have the bare metal exposed along the edge.

I bought BO screws, but next time I think I'll include screws in the run as his BO is better than the stock BO screws.

I prefer the orange, in a nice bright never lose it color.
