Yeah, I don't think you'll find many threads about poor customer service from Gerber in the US.  Of course it's up to you if you send in a tool when you don't know the circumstances of how it was damaged. ;)
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

My conscience won't let me send it in.  The warranty specifically says "Gerber warrants to the original consumer purchaser..." and I am not the original purchaser.

I don't like that wording.  It's not like you purchase the warranty when you bought the tool.  Leatherman warrants the tool, and they say so.

I've never had an experience with Gerber warranty but from what I gather it's just as good as Leathermans warranty.

Warning-Adult humour and language in the clip. :D

There's a lot of going on in the knife world, people just bashing a company because it's the popular thing to do, even though they probably have never used anything from that company. A Gerber knife gets crapped on even before it's released and a very similar knife from a "more reputable" company is being raved.

I actually do kinda like Gerber multitools and their older knives, I'm just not that big of a fan of their stubby drivers, but that's due to space limitations.  Their newer knives just don't spark with me, nor do their mystery steel for their blades. :/

I still want one of their Applegate folders at some point, though; it'd be wonderful if their 15th anniversary folder was made into regular production. >.>
