A short introduction...
on: January 29, 2012, 11:42:03 AM
Hi all,

after visiting this forum for a while, I guess it's time to introduce myself...

My Name is John, I'm Dutch - but for the last eight years I've been living in Norway.
It looks like 'll probably stay here (on the other hand, you never know...)

Many hobbies that come and go, depending on time and resources available:
Riding a motorcycle or mountain bike (the latter one in reasonably light terrain, no steep mountainsides for me); fishing; being on the water with any type of boat or canoe; all kinds of shooting (I've had different types of revolvers/pistols, rifles and a shotgun for maybe 15 to 20 years, currently it's archery with a recurve bow); I've had and trained dogs (among others a dutch shepherd that I was training for SAR); photography; reading about lots of subjects; camping and hiking; geocaching...
Lots of activities where a good knife of multitool comes in handy  :multi:

Over the years, I've collected a few knives and tools.
Some get used regularly, others have rarely been used and some er (temporarily) retired.
To name a few:  Buck 110, 112 (25th anniversary edition), Puma Master, Spyderco Endura, SOG Seal pup, SOG Autoclip, Leatherman PST, Super Tool ...
At the moment tools like the Leatherman Crunch and Wave; Victorinox Cyber Tool, SwissChamp, Trailmaster OH and Huntsman get used the most - sometimes together with a Mora 2000, Brusletto Hunter or Norgeskniven when planning a longer hike or when the day involves a campfire and grilling sausages or something like that.

From what I've read so far there's a lot of knowledge on this forum about knives, tools and other subjects along with possibilities for buying or trading items - seems like an ideal place to me  ;)

When you go back to Holland make sure to tell our buddy Taco we miss him!  You can't miss him- he'll be the guy trying to sell you a yacht!
