MTO and pop culture
on: February 04, 2012, 09:13:30 PM
Here on MTO we often have jokes / references to pop culture, movies, TV shows that some people get and others don't. It seems to me that most of us except having a fondness for sharp shiny objects, also likes the same movies and TV shows. So if you're new here, here's a list of things to watch so the next time someone is talking about cookies, calls you a smeg head or a real Jamie, mentions towel day, buys a knife-wrench, complains about a silly walk or wants to sell you a dead parrot, you'll know the gist of the joke. :pok:

For instance:

1. Star Wars :D
2. Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (the 6 part BBC series, not the movie - that sucked)
3. Monty Pythons Flying Circus and the movies from the same gang
4. Red Dwarf
5. A Fish Called Wanda
6. Scrubs
7. Mythbusters
8. Jamie And His Magic Torch

Also feel free to add thinks to the list. I know I forgot lots of it but the essentials are here.

:tu:

I love that show. In my young pirate years ago I once uploaded 25 DVDs of OFAH to a exYu torrent site with a 1mb upload speed. I know now it was wrong,  :twak: but I just wanted to share that OFAH love ;)

MacGyver.. ;)

I thought about it but what puzzles me is we don't talk about Mr. Anderson that much. We often macgyver something (it even became a verb) but hardly reference it. We must try herder from now on.

I like a lot of different stuff, but not always the same as everyone on here.

1. Star wars-I love it, but I'm not an expert
2. Friends-I am an expert, a Jedi Master, own all the seasons, memorized them
3. Seinfeld-Padowan, getting there
4. Clive Cussler and Andy Mcdermott books
5. Destination Truth
6. Dancing with the stars.  Shut up, you know those chicks are hot.
7. Skyrim, and all other TES games except Arena and Daggerfall.
8. I used to love Call of Duty, but my thoughts on that are well known.
9. Monty Python, they are hilarious!
10. Frasier!!!  I love this show!
11. Monk, best show ever
12. Castle, rapidly approaching Monk status.
13.  The Simpsons!!!!!
14. Futurama!!!
15. Family guy
16. King of the hill
