I don't know if this price is right, but given I paid $20 for my 42 in about the same shape, I think $125 is really high for this well used and grinder sharpened M1908 Soldier, especially given another seller has one for $150 in very good condition for a 70 year old knife.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Elsener-Schwyz-Swiss-Made-Soldiers-Jack-knife-1940-1943-/132209427499?hash=item1ec84bc42b:g:MvIAAOSwT-FZCeJ~

High  price for a soldier in that condition ..... But that is a pretty rare set of Tang stamps

With soldiers the price is all down to the year and the condition

and the condition can really make a vast difference in price .... not as bad a comic books but a Perfect knife can often sell for twice the price of a knife most would consider excellent.

Well said, this is what I'm learning...

Seems like Vics go for about 10-25% more than Wenger as well.

$10 for a sticker?! I live 5 miles from the Bluefield branch of Joy Global this came from, and given they just give these away, I'm sure I could get one for free if I called. Joy also will give these away if I send them a letter (odd, given it's 2017, in the age of email). I guess they do this to discourage resellers.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/JoyGlobal-Service-For-Hire-Rare/222516062695?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D44757%26meid%3Dbd683bf8757d48a0a43e1cb2d2ad9831%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D263054493831

Even worse is $150 for these. I have the whole set, and that sticker is my favorite of my mining sticker collection, but no way I'd pay that. Mine came from Lee Norse when my grandfather was a purchasing agent.

$133 for a GAK.   And I thought $30 was high for the used Bundeswehr surplus ones (a new one, in comparison is $40-50)....

Maybe you're both crazy ? :D

I think that you're both right to try selling it for this price and that the crazy one is whoever pays this price for it. I wish you find this crazy buyer though... and I wish I can one day buy this 2010 limited edition for a reasonable price.

It's funny... This isn't the first time I've seen someone from Switzerland post on this forum with an unreasonable idea of what that exact knife is worth.

One could begin to suspect these people are in fact one person...

I mean, I know it's called "Black Beauty" and awl... but  hmmm...  really doesn't do it for me.   Seems like they're trying to compensate for something with a name like that.

You can buy a new black Pioneer for like $30....  it's a real beauty too..

But who am I kidding?  BB's are definitely worth $800  :D

I'm definitely kidding.  The most I would pay for any SAK is $100 max... and it had better be pretty special... like mint in box birth year soldier or something.

I´m going to get a Delemont RangerGrip Boatsman next year. It´s nearly $ 200. And that´s a current factory production model.

Custom prices: The Buccaneer (Syph mod & pic) was well over $ 200, the SwissBianco Carver SW less than half of it.

Once or twice is enough. I´m not going to collect mods; it´s their very personal nature and uniqueness makes them special. I´m getting the Boatsman because it would make a great companion for my Delemont RangerGrip Gardener. A rich-in-tools SAK combo of proper size.  :D

My strategy is to not buy any SAKs for months on end, and maybe even sell a few. My bank account then skyrockets and :woohoo:.

I wouldn't look at high end mods as the same kind of animal as stock SAKs, when considering what to spend. I wouldn't drop any crazy amount on an off-the-rack SAK, but a Syph mod? If I was going to blow some big bucks on a knife, that would be it.

I'm ludicrously lucky to have obtained a Syph SAK for free, so the urge to buy an expensive mod hasn't overtaken me... yet

Living in LaLa Land must be fun.

That's a bit odd.  I've purchased from this seller many times in the past and haven't noticed his prices to be that far off the going rates.  I guess the market will deliver a verdict on that price.
