$2000-2500???
I have seen one of these go for $1000, but I think the actual market value is less than half that, but good optimism Maxt!

Sell me one at 1000$, payment by PayPal, G&S, I will pay the tracked shipment and I will cover the Paypal fees for you.

You will earn 100% over your fair market price.

How about that?

I have 5 new in box, but I'm waiting for the price to go up.  :D

Besides, if I could get $2000, why don't you pay me that much?

Better yet, send me $10,000, and I will send you all 5!

Well, the fair market price is not 500$ then, right?

You are fast to change your market evaluation, good.
However. Where did I say I would pay you 2000$?
I have not said that. I offered you 1000$ + extras.
So you can assume that for you, the seller, starting price must be 1000$, since you have already one customer who can confirm what he says by the cash payment.
Would you get 2000 or not is the matter of an auction trade. I believe - will reach 2000$.

I have not changed my evaluation, I think they will bring $350-450 at auction. Realistically, just because one of these sold for $1000 a few years ago doesn't mean it was ever worth that much, or that the price has automatically doubled because you imagine it has. If you want to buy these for $2000-2500, I'm sure you will find many sellers at that price. If you can show where one of those 2010 Pioneers has sold for $2000-2500, I would be interested to see that.

So I can post it in the crazy thread.

That's why no international shipping. I have lost a few to customs theives.

I don't think there are any potential buyers anywhere at that price though.  :D

I do have a standing offer from Maxt for $1000 plus expenses, so there is that, but I think a starting bid of over $400 is dreaming on fleaBay.

Yes I guess that makes sense.
In my case the knife was returned to me after three months. Buyer was in the Middle East and apparently importing a SAK was illegal. I was glad they actually sent it back.

I sent a phone to my daughter in Canada that had some bizarre tracking after it hit customs. It never was delivered, but fortunately the post office honored the insurance claim. I have had a few other incidents, but rarely if it doesn't involve customs. I will still ship international, but now I don't expect it to actually arrive.  :D

Never had any lost items with over 200 international transactions (buying and selling). But I only ship insured and only to countries that offer tracking until the point of delivery. It did happen a couple of times that tracking stopped at the border but I never got complaints from buyers that an item didn't arrive. You may not expect it, but in almost all cases when tracking stopped this was in the UK or in Germany. So I try to avoid Royal Mail and Deutsche Post as much as possible and use different carriers like DHL for the UK and Germany.

Good to hear GF, unfortunately I have about a 2% loss rate for international shipping. I'm ok with the loss of tracking as long as it reaches the destination, but I always ship insured to cover loss. Unfortunately insurance doesn't always work either...

As much as crazy Ricardo CHF price may seem it is not quite fair market. Many Swiss collectors and sellers are reluctant to deal with outside world. The other week I sent couple of emails to tutti.ch sellers. I am looking for Michel Jordi SAKs, and I found 2 new in original box listed, the prices are 150% of what I would expected on ebay but still... Nobody even bothered to reply.  :D
Swiss post is one of the best in the world (after Dutch post, of course) but still people are not open internationally keeping it all local.

Yes I understand. I still ship international to most places that have reliable post, but there are a lot of sellers, even on fleaBay that will not. It has been riskier for me to ship through customs, but it's been mostly worth it for me overall, 2% is not a lot, and it's less than fleaBay fees for sure.  :salute:

There are a lot of companies that provide mail-box services in the US and EU, but Switzerland is outside of European Union. Besides the Swiss like to use uberwesung (wire transfer) and do not accept Paypal. Having these peculiar properties I cannot fully consider their prices as average \ fair market.

$300 for a 1970s Camillus Cub Scout Knife. Get this, the seller says "Research what these knives are selling for before you make me ridiculous offers". Uh, lady, I did; and I hate to tell you this, but not a one sold for anything close to that. Almost all were $15, some including shipping at that price.  Not to mention $17.50 for shipping alone; and that they take 5 days to process the order.   Seems like this individual should not be in this business.

That was the most disappointing thing I've seen all week!
A messed up Marlboro box. What kind of a beauty lurks inside? A Troubleshooter? Or an Outdoorsman, perhaps?
Remember, someone coughed up a lung to get this thing. Boy oh boy, I hope it was worth it!
Let's dig through the pictures and see...
A flipping Spartan?!!!
NOOOOOO!

Does anyone know why this Pioneer got $306?  Was it possibly because there were two bidders in war?  Or maybe something I don't know.

Crazy for that vintage IMO. Seller clearly state '80s vintage. I don't think they're difficult to find with box and I think the starting price was already higher than current 'market price' for MIB. I would understand a teeny bit better if the box was minty too.

Don't think it's worth $235. It's similar to the two-blade Grafter, but instead of the budding blade, has the clip point blade. I sure wish it was still being made.
