Surprise encounter
on: February 05, 2012, 10:41:12 PM
AS most of you know I wouldnt go to work with out at least MT and a SAK,and at least once every day they get pulled out to undo or tighten screws, build fixtures or what have you.Theres always those amusing moments when customers are complaining(rightly)about the diorganisation, and why dont we have screwdivers/scissors/flux capacitors to hand, and of course the representitive of MTo swings into action, but on Tuesday the boot ended up on the other foot...

I walked onto the shop floor just after opening, and bumped straight into a lady with a recalcagent radio control car.First thing we always do is change the batteries(solves the problem 60% of the time),so out came the Tini PPP,but before I could get a driver out,the lady was offering me an origional Supertool!

I was gobsmacked! And yes I did drool over the ST,check for date codes(didnt see then, but then didnt really have a lot of time)and let her know that if her hubby wanted to sell it,they knew where to find me.

Oh,and she left happy with a new better car,and a small refund :tu:
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Great story!  It's always nice to play "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" with a pleasant lady, although it can be a bit emasculating when hers is bigger!  :D

The original ST is my favorite multitool, It was my first Leatherman (bought it in '94) and not a day goes by that I don't drool over it ...

I don't EDC it anymore, that's why I bought myself two ST 300  ;).

So you subscribe to the theory that it's not the size of the tool so much as how you use it?  I suppose I'll have to give you points for that as she apparently left happy!   :D

Awesome!  Classy lady to be carrying a ST around, the originals are still the coolest looking IMHO.

A week later she reaches in her bag.......... and out comes her keys!   :o

My GF is one of those people with a really simple purse, too. Hardly anything in it and it's all somewhat organized. Hers is almost more like a small briefcase than a normal purse, which contributes to the way she uses it too.

I need to get her some sort of MT to carry around, she used to have a Vic Classic that she got in Switzerland, but lost it, and doesn't want to replace it with a plain one. I gave her a Gerber Curve and she carried it for a while but didn't like the locking mechanism. I think a Style CS would work well for her, she doesn't like the inside opening blades on the Micra.
