Stanley Adventure Cook set
on: February 11, 2012, 06:26:13 AM
Anyone have one of these? I saw one at Target tonight while doing my recon of the multitool section. It's basically a stainless steel cook pot with two cups that stow inside of it for travel. Picking it up it seemed bombproof. Amazon gives it some good reviews too

Two 10-oz. insulated plastic cups
Stainless-steel single-wall cooking pot cooks over camp stove
Vented lid lets steam escape while cooking
Two-position handle extends for cooking. Locks in place
Dishwasher safe
 Lifetime warranty.

I found it as low as 15 bucks at walmart..about 18 at Target. Might try it out on my ole Peak One stove.

I have one. Makes a nice brewkit for two or you can nest a GSI Glacier cup and have a solo cook kit.

I've been looking for a decent inexpensive cook set for kayaking- maybe I'll look into one of these.

I've handled it in store and it's too skinny/tall for my liking, not really good for cooking or eating. And the plastic jugs seems kinda waste, would rather have something metal for better versatility.

For the money I'd get a zebra pot. Also check your local asian store, you may find something that works better and cheaper.

They're a little on the pricey side in comparison, but I've had a JetBoil on my list for a while...  I don't normally like canister based stoves, but the way the JetBoil's are set up, it's very convenient so I'm willing to compromise.  I wouldn't want to depend on it for a week long trip (I'd rather have something like a traditional backpacking stove like a Whisperlite for that), but for day hikes or one or two nights, I think something like a JetBoil would be a better choice.
The first Noble Truth: life is suffering.  Only by accepting that fact can we transcend it.
