avatars/attachments should be fixed now... missed a path in the configuration... you'd think they'd put all those important things on the same part of the config screen...

I'm not sure what the problem is, checked several threads on several computers and still seem to be missing most of the old attachments.

Do you see my attachment on this message?
http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,27753.msg573945.html#msg573945

I can't.

On the computer I don't see anything, and on my phone I only se a blue ?. I tried copying the

http://www.sakwiki.com/show_image.php?id=2196

Link and opening the pic by itself but it wouldn't work.

It seems that pic is gone. I went number by number and the last uploaded pic is 2195 uploaded today by Reinier a few hours ago. So it seems yesterdays pics weren't saved.

I just went to sakwiki to browse galleries and there are just 7 of them,

http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-galleries.php?filter=topgal&offset=0

I think you are just seeing a bug in the current WikiSoftware.  After you get to that page, open the Choose Filter Drop-Down and pick "Choose Filter" then press "Filter" button.  Now navigation will navigate all the galleries.  Does it work for you?

The new software a few months back was mostly a big improvement, but it did come with a few strange bugs.  They are mostly strange because they are so obvious and easy to see.

I just see a few edits from Friday/Early Sat missing.  The latest Wenger Long Nail-File and Marlinspike images, and tool page edits.  I can put them back if they are not restored, but I suspect they will be restored soon.  For now I'm not making any further edits on SAKwiki until I get a green light.

Yes, it works now, I figured it was something like that cause all the images were there, well except the last ones.

That's an encoding/charset problem, but should be easy (I guess) to fix: the site is telling the contents are in latin1/ISO-8859-1 charset, but they really are in UTF-8. So the browsers are displaying utf8 contents as latin1.

I forced my browser to utf8 on this thread, and go it ok, see:

Now that I have your attention, I can guarantee there will be some kind of server outage in the near future- I'll try to update the timeline as much as possible.

The short version is we are changing servers- the company we are currently with is so amazingly useless and incompetent that I am planning a trip to Germany to beat the crap out of each and every person in their office.  The current issue is they can't find this month's payment (despite me sending them the Transaction ID and screenshot from Paypal), and they may shut us down prematurely.  It is noteworthy that they changed their PP payment system this month, so naturally the problem is on our end.   ::)  If they shut us down, Whoey is performing backups twice a day so we won't lose much, and we'll fire everything up on the new server.

Our new server is available to us, and I think we are going to start working on transferring the whole Defender Web Empire as soon as possible- at which point we will be offline for a short period while the transfer is done.

So, bear with us- if you try to log in and we aren't here, don't worry, we are working on getting back online as quickly as possible!

I am seriously considering a trip to Germany to "discuss" it with them in person, and perhaps terminate our agreement the way I quit my job at McDonalds when I was in high school- whip it out and pee on them.

But then again, since I figure most of the server outages were results of the technicians spilling sauerkraut on the servers while watching shizer films.  I suggest if you don't know what that means, do not Google it, especially not if you are on a work or family computer...

Don't know if this has to do with the server move or not, but I can no longer remain signed in on the forum.

I noticed the same thing on swissarmyknights, even if I chaeck the keep me logged in button, as soon as I close the browser and reopen, I'm logged out.

This has now started happening on the MTO forum, and the timing seems to coincide with the server move.

I've tried this on Firefox and IE, bith at home and work.  I don't think its a browser thing, as I haven't upgraded or tweaked any settings.

Any ideas?

I have set my browser to delete all cookies etc when I shut it , so I need to log in every time.
Maybe you have that setting too.

I don't know the other forum, but on this one it has been working for me. Try to logout and relogin again, but be sure to specify "forever" in the box next to the password. I don't remember if that box existed before.

Yeah, the forever box was already there.  I checked my settings, incase something changed on its own somehow, but its allowing cookies.  I can see the cookies for both sites in the list as well.

Its really not a big deal, just odd.

yes, check your cookies, I changed something there... so perhaps log out, delete cookies, clear cache, then relog in with "forever" and see if that sorts it.

I haven't had a chance to barely look at SwissArmyKnights with all the other stuff on my plate.
