I can tell you the name of a good book, but then I will have to "silence" you....

Try online, lots of downloadable ones.  You may need to be more specific about where you intend to practise the bushcraft art.

A couple worth reading would be:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bushcraft-Outdoor-Skills-Wilderness-Survival/dp/1551051222/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=ITYXSQOOP1JN6&colid=1Q6V8LD7M02X2
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Outdoor-Survival-Handbook-Resources-Navigation/dp/0091878861/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1329760912&sr=1-1
A slightly more old fashioned book but excellent non-the-less:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Woodcraft-Nessmuk/dp/0486211452/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=IBJB4BNA8JWGA&colid=1Q6V8LD7M02X2

Not sure any of them quite qualify as 'pocket sized' though.

:ahhh  thanks mate, im going to order the bottom one first and see how that one goes  :salute:

You made me think of an old friend of mine, in the 70's he went "survivalists" and moved into a Volkswagen camper van. His favorite book was called something like "1000 Ways to Kill Someone". But then, like most, a few years years later he fell in love, got married, bought a house in town, and had a bunch of kids.

Ah, the days of youth...
