Found my next cutter.
on: January 26, 2008, 11:01:36 PM
After owning a BM Griptilian for years I jsut felt like it was time to get another,I knew I wanted the clip point instead of the modifies sheapsfoot, and felt that the 154cm was a great steel, but look what Cabelas has D2!!!!!!

I think this week I will be getting one.

A Tac-Blac fan eh Hawk?

I might commandeer this thread to discuss preferred Blade styles.

Yah I kinda like them for work. Not for Defence. But the one handed opening is something that I use canstantly and feel that the need is there. I will never have to use a knife in self defence , but will need to deploy one 6o feet up on a catwalk, or while under a truck.

As for blade styles,,,, Im just old fashioned and really like the clip point. However the warncliff on the grotesque suspension did kinda interest me.

You usually go for a Combo Edge?

I don't have a one-hander. I'll get a Spidie one day. (or something from CRKT)

nah I really dont like the combos. I usually have one on my multi, but I will tell ya I carry the Spyderco Salt 1 Full serr In my back pocket all the time at work.I find that the thing is a great knife and I just love that the crap I cut with it does not effect the blade. Only prob I have ever had is the Muriatic acid. It stains the H1 steel a weird grey.

By the way If ya want I can send ya the Spyderco native I have been carrying now when I get the Griptilian. I feel I will not need another after this one! After owning the orig grip In the Sheepsfoot It now has all I want. D2 in a clippoint blade.

I try to avoid Pickle when possible, and can't imagine why I'd put it on my knife.
A salt definitely appeals to me, and I'm a fan of bright coloured handles. I might have another perv at the Spidie cat.

Yah the color thing is kinda cool. I think I am going to get my wife the Pink Spydie Delica. She can put it in her bag with her original wave and the Surefire G2

The benchmade Griptillian was my first "tactical" style knife.  I used it a lot and I absolutely love that thing.  I dressed a lot of deer with that knife.  It is the greatest field dressing tool that I have ever owned the blade had a thumbstud instead of the hole and although I "dis" zytel a lot in my posts, it provides a great grip when textured like the griptillian even when covered in blood.

It's not a Dozier D2,but I've never heard anything but good buzz about the Kabar Dozier, and for 29  bucks catalog price a very good bargain.

Even better Bison at 20. When I get home from work I will find the place that has them for 20.

For no sensible reason whatsoever, I've often had Steel scaled knives - the Griptilian and kabar look nice though, still a little bit "Tac" for my tastes, but sensible enough.
