According to a thread on CandlePower Forums, the Mini-Mag Pro is due out later this month.  This will be a one-output flashlight (no SOS or strobe, etc.), available in the usual colors.  I didn't find it, but I seem to remember reading that the MM Pro will have a lumen rating of over 200 (could be wrong).

Cheers Mike, reading through the thread on CPF you seem to be right on the money re brightness and approximate release time. :salute:

I like the concept of the XL200 (and the price).  I'd be very interested in review of it.  Also, a ~200 lumen Minimag would be fab. :tu:

A 200L Mini would be the cat's tail ! I'm guessing it's prolly overated , so 120-150 is more likely . Emmitter and out the front Lumens never quite match up .

While I like the option of a low , the whole disco ball thing , leaves me cold !

Maglite uses ANSI ratings for their lights, so it's actually a decent bet it'll hit that 200L spec if that's what they rate it at.

Just talked to a guy who will go into LE and all he knew was Maglite.  I mentioned Surefire and he had no clue what they were.  The question he asked me was, "Is Surefire better than Maglite?"  Of course better depends on many factors, but in his world flashlight=Maglite.

it's not surprising really, maglite must be one of the biggest 'quality' names you'll ever find in a bricks & mortar shop.  Well, that's certainly the case here anyway, I don't think I've ever seen another 'quality' brand light other than Inova and even they were in a high priced outdoor pursuit shop.

I am still a fan, especially of the LED models. I have a 3D LED in my Peterbilt, a 3D incandescent in my car, and 2 2AA minimags, one in the house and one in the EDC bag. I also have 2 Surefires and a Leatherman Serac.

I just read a thread over at CPF, and apparently the Mini Mag Pro's release date has been moved to December.

I haven't seen it mentioned on this forum, but MagLite recently released 2 new models:  The ML100 and the ML125.  The ML100 is a 2-C cell LED flashlight, 137 lumens on high (13 hrs.), 25% output on low "power saver" (48 hrs.) and has strobe.  The ML125 is a rechargeable LED light (can also use 3-C cells), that is 193 lumens on high (25 hrs.), 25% output on power saver (72 hrs.), plus strobe and SOS.

There's also a dumb down version of ML100, same shell but with 2 or 3 levels switched via on/off.

I should say that I was perusing maglites at canadian tire yesterday and it seems the whole LED line has been switched over to XP-Es.  So, that's a good start.

Forgot to mention that MagLite is bringing out the Mag-Tac LED light, estimated output is 250 lumens with an estimated runtime of 4.5 hours.  It will use 2 CR123A batteries.  To me, it looks like a ML100 with a pineapple/grenade grip and scalloped bezel.

I wouldn't say mag lite is dead, they do make good hosts. I'm currently modding one to put out near 5000 lumen.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

If they're not dead, they're certainly trying to dig their own grave.

Mac's customs (who does some inredible mag mods) has apparently been contacted by Maglite and told off.

Details are spotty, as Mac hasn't said much about it, but at one point alluded that this would be why he'd be discontinuing his 3300L Mag Mods.

My 3300L will be the last Mag I ever buy, and I'd only bought it to have it modified. They can get stuffed.

Agree. Maglite needs to get with the program or just stop making lights.

That is so rude!  I can't imagine victorinox emailing modders on this forum and telling them to stop customizing their knives!  I bought so many just based on seeing the mods.  This must happen in the flashlight modding scene too?
