Good to see that the folks at SOG are going the extra mile to look after their customers!
Def
Y'know Def,
Since the intervention from Chris@SOG - I've now put SOG squarely in my sights, whereas before I (forgive me) viewed them as a lesser brand name to either swisstool or leathermans. That's clearly down to marketing.
My eyes have now been well and truly opened, by the fact that SOG like Gerber are pushing the multitool boundaries into unchartered territory. As opposed to the LM's and Vics old staple design - Take the Rebar.....seriously.... where is the cutting edge innovation with that? Yes it's a cute mini S/T 300. But it's not exactly ground breaking news, is it?
In contrast the new PowerDuo looks to be a radical design reminiscent of both the Buck 730 series and Swissgrip. No doubt the first generation will have design flaws (namely the philips driver) - but SOG must be applauded for having both guts and originality to try new ideas. Like the Paratool, Pocket tool, Power Assist, Power Lock each being a different concept of the multitool form.
Indeed if it wasn't for the likes of SOG and Gerber life would be pretty dull here on MT.org.
Same goes for Gerber, over the years they have brought out a plethora of MT's, whether good or bad by design is debatable, but at least they are moving forwards and not merely resting on their laurels.
For that alone you've gotta give 'em respect.
