So are you thinking families, or just us guys?

I'm open to either.   I will more than likely be flying solo.

Roger that. :salute: So backpacker tents, or 30-foot travel trailers?

It'll be a tent for me, unless you guys want to see about getting a cabin.  Feel free to bring whatever you want (just be prepared for me to try to snag a spot on the couch in that nice travel trailer!)

I'm all for doing the tent thing :salute:  But, the cabin might be a nice back-up in case it rains..? I don't mind tenting in the rain, but it won't be any fun to sit around and BS if we have to sit out in it :-\

I was thinking tenting would be fun, but since Bob brought up the rain I'm having second thoughts.

So plus one for a cabin  :tu:

Ok, the cabin "technically" sleeps 4... but one of the beds is a double and the other is bunks.  So, as much as I'd love to cuddle Bob all night long, it looks like we can fit three in the cabin.  Also, the reservation needs to be for two nights, so I'll snag it for Friday and Saturday night.

I'll call tomorrow and see if they even have one available for the weekend we're looking at.  If they do, I might see about either reserving two cabins or one cabin and one tent site.  That way we'll have room for more if anyone else wants to show up. :pok:

Cool! (but I'll bring my tent along too, just in case I get kicked outside for snoring) :P

And boy can Bob snore!   :ahhh

He woke me up at SHOT this year and I had a hell of a time going back to sleep because I was laughing so hard!  :D

I'll go with Bob... but only if we share a room with a single bed.  He's so cuddly.

Looks like a nice place. Camping, a lake, plenty of activities :) I've been past there a million times and never knew it existed.

So are you thinking families, or just us guys?

When you say just us guys, do you mean just us men?
I guess I wouldn't want to be the only female there, I could bring my son (he is 21).
Herrick Park does look like a fun place.
Dang, my son is not interested.  Never mind.

I've never been to a meet up yet and it won't happen this year- to broke- but it's nice to see one close enough for me to attended and I will be at it next year if you have one close enough for me to drive to.

Looks like a nice place you picked.

I work at a camp in Clare and it turns out Saturday afternoon is about the only time each week I have free. I will try to stop by if I have the time.

So are you JA from Mn as in Minnesota? Yeah, that would be a bit of a drive alright. :-\ Of course, it would be a lot shorter if that stupid Lake Michigan wasn't in the way. ::) :D Hopefully you can make it next time. :)

Are you sure? Because ladies are more than welcome too. :salute: Although I can certainly understand your reluctance about being the only female there. My daughter would enjoy coming along too if that would make a difference..?

Or I tell you what, at least think about stopping by for a few hours on Friday evening or Saturday, we'd love to meet you. :)

Sooo... I was talking to my wife the other day, and happened to mention that I was going to go camping that weekend.  She got a bit upset with me.  Turns out, she was planning a trip for her and I that weekend for our Anniversary (Which is actually the 7th, but we won't have our kids the weekend of the 16th and 17th.)

If you guys want to stick to the 16th and 17th that's fine.  I just might not make it.  Or, if I do, I might not be able to go home afterwards :D  If we can pick another date, I would appreciate it.

Well given that if you can't go home to her, you'll probably ask to come home with me, I say we DEFINITELY pick another date! :ahhh

Was it that obvious?  I remember you saying before that you had a couch I could use :P

Any ideas what dates you guys would be good for?  I think I can work out just about any weekend starting the 30th of May.  I've got a few cub scout events coming up but I don't have those dates in front of me at the moment.
