The "good buy on ebay" is now gone! And, sadly, I will confess. I bought the very last one.
I say "sadly" because this is just one more example of how weak and powerless I am.
I was strong! I was resolute! I promised myself and swore that no matter how great of a deal this Wenger knife was I simply was not going to cave to my impulsive nature and pull the trigger on it.
And indeed! For 5 agonizingly long days I held firm. Even as I observed others receive their orders and post pictures of the beautiful red Wenger
Serrated Master
I did not yield to temptation. I was so proud of myself!
Well, all that pride flew out the window about 30 minutes ago when I decided to log onto eBay one last time before I went to bed. Just to see if that second run of knives were all gone?
Almost, not quite. There was one left. Only one! I don't know what happened? I saw that lonely figure (1) and before I could log off and walk away I hit the "Buy Now" option. Bam! It was almost as if I were possessed by the Devil? Yeah! Yeah! That's it! That's what happened! The Devil made me do it!
Wow! Thanks everyone! Thanks for letting me come here to find closure. To find understanding. I'm so glad I talked this out and gained insight into what occurred. I wasn't weak at all. I was strong! I did hold out. It was the devil. Yeah, the devil. Just like Flip Wilson used to say; "The Devil made me do it!"
Anyhoo. They're all gone now!

Currahee,
You did well, we are proud of you
and I can assure you that all of us have too many knieves just like you.
18 bucks is too low for a Serrated Master and a sin not to buy it. A good dinner easily cost the same and most of it will pass out as waste
. A SAK will still be around the next 20 years.

thank you, demonoflust.
i appreciate the validation. seeing that there was only one left really did trigger a knee-jerk response. i knew that if i didn't buy that knife, at that price, i would regret it for a long time. didn't need it. really didn't want it. but, like everyone already attested, it was just too good a deal to pass up! *sigh*
cheers, mate!

Weak? Weak!? I bought 3 and i'm not certain i want 1
(i often buy items in lots of 3 as i can usually sell the other two locally to cover most of the cost of the third since i save on postage. Still hard to have the $$$ tied up until i do though)

Santos,
I had to bust out the magnifying glass in order to read your well-reasoned rationalization for buying 3. And of course it makes perfect sense, too! Saving on postage, that is.
I'm reminded of when I was still married and how my wife would try to utilize that fuzzy feminine math-logic with me about how spending a thousand dollars on new clothes actually saved me two thousand. Because everything she bought was on sale and if it had been full price it would have cost three thousand!
Rather than wage a losing war I would just walk away shaking my head. Fortunately, I am no longer married. But if I was I would certainly be using that same mathematics formula to my advantage to justify all of my knife purchases.
Well, Santos! At least with these
Serrated Masters
, if you really do intend to sell 2 out of the 3, you will be able to give someone a good deal and still make some coin over and above what you paid for them.
I'll be honest, I was very leery of this deal when I first saw this thread posted. But since some of you guys have already received it and it is legit, I really had to go for it! I mean, when opportunity knocks ya gots to open the door! *snicker snicker* At least I didn't open the door 3 times! *ouch!*

Tools and knives are in our genes since stone age. We can never have enough toys when we were young and how can we stop acquiring more adult toys when we are able to decide for ourself
No more excuses, BUY IT!

I just had to come back to this thread one last time to give some props to the original seller of these serrated Masters that many of us managed to score at a great price. Not only was the price well below what this knife usually sells for retail, the shipping (at least in my case) was the fastest i have ever experienced from an eBay seller. My knife arrived yesterday in an unbelievable 34 hours from the time I hit "Buy Now" and sent my payment via PayPal until it landed in my mailbox. 34 hours!!! Simply amazing! As someone else mentioned, the packaging was somewhat shabby but the knife inside was perfect and just as described. I am very happy with this knife and would definitely buy from the seller,
blackeaglecorp
, again!
here it is:
P.S., as for the ones that just emerged on eBay, my guess is that the seller--who has an Ebay score of 97.1%--is trying to flip some of the knives that were originally offered by the seller we dealt with and turn a profit on them? I just watched one go for the starting bid of $18.95. No profit on that one! There were 5 listed by the same seller with the end date of the auctions staggered on all 5. I wish them well. I already got mine!
I''m happy to see that you got yours, too, demonoflust! Agreed -- a great buy!
Cheers, everyone!
