It's fun living near Portland
on: December 02, 2012, 06:05:00 AM
Just took the family on an outing to the Kershaw factory outlet sale-- and let me tell you, it's an easy place to spend way, way more than intended. I tried to limit myself to only $200 and almost made it. But still, 19 Kershaws-- and some darned good ones in there, about half of them in factory-sealed packaging without the "XXXX" markings on the blade-- for $200? It was hard to walk around the sales area without grabbing one of everything they had.

It was my first time at the sale, and the selection was much larger than I'd expected. Box after box filled with most every knife they make, some as low as $2.50.

If there's anyone in the Portland (Tualatin) area with some time to kill tomorrow, a visit is HIGHLY recommended. Just go in prepared to resist some serious temptations.

I'll get something decent up when I can, I'm not the most artistic sort of guy.

Don't worry, I bet most people around here just want to see what you got, no pressure. :)

Here's the haul from yesterday, total came in at $202.

Most of which came from the Shallot and the rainbow Leek, Scallion and Chive, which were $24 - $30 each.

Ah the storm, I had one of the 1st gen, the traction insert is literally epoxy bonded 30 grit sandpaper, I tried it as a wood rasp and it worked perfectly lol. Guess they had enough complaint about it so they switched to the rubbery stuff they use now.
