I really like it for some reason.
It looks like they have been able to pack a lot of tools in a pretty small package.
I think it's a good upgrade from LMs Skeletool, even though it looks much bigger and chunkier.

And I really like Vics 111mm tool shape :tu:

Now I want one.

Why am I even ON these boards? It's like a sick addiction... I should know better. :D
I'm with Lynn on this one and can tell you from personal experience that it is much cheaper to buy Crack! With that said, I must have one and then no more, this will be the last time...
Is there a twelve step program for this affliction, maybe weekly meetings or something? Hi, I'm Stew and I can't stop buying multitools...

Is it possible to get the pliers out with one hand?

Yes the pliers do come out one handed. That slot near the pivot acts like a blade opening hole without the blade.

Guess what made it's way to work with me again today?

My only thoughts about the Powerduo are  :gimme: :gimme: :gimme:

Nothing too serious. I used the blade to cut some heavy nylon straps but that's as hard a workout as it's gotten so far.

Not Felinevet (although he is always open to the possibility of special orders) but I think Travis is talking to Chris@SOG about setting up a Group Buy for forum members in case anyone is interested.  Contact Travis:

Thanks for the PMs and all the interest in a group buy.  I have been in contact with Chris@sog.  Once he knows something regarding availability and pricing, he'll let me know.  I haven't checked with him in a few days, but will send a note to see where we are.

I expect interest will run high this one.  The PowerDuo was included in a news brief in the current Tactical Knives.  That will probably up the competition to get in on the first production run.

I'll update when I know more.

Hmm... no pocket clip is there... I'm still going to want one but there may need to be some pocket clip mod action going on. I'm thinking screwing one directly into a scale.

Well I have been carrying and using this one almosty exclusively since I got it and I have a few thoughts.  Not a full review yet, but some thoughts.

The main blade is nice.  It won't work for lefties and it feels a little loose, but it works quite well and the blade kind of reminds me of an Endura blade.  Pretty slick for a multitool.  And, the handle doesn't seem too big or bulky when using the knife.  Oh yeah, and I did have cause to use it while I was wearing gloves, and no problem at all opening it.

The smaller tools inside work well and lock up solidly.  There's some rust on the tines of the phillips screwdriver, but I believe that's the result of using it on rusty screws, not the tool itself rusting.  I'm not thrilled that it's as limited as it is, and I would rather have a bit driver than the phillips, but that seems to be splitting hairs.

The pliers work well.  They are comfortable to use and the compound leverage operates smoother than some SOG models.

The toothpick and tweezers are ok, but I think I am spoiled by the perfectly flush mounted Vic and Wenger T&T, and while the SOG ones aren't bad, they aren't nearly as smooth as the Vic and Wenger ones.  Again, this is a pre production model, and there may be some finishing work being done before these go out, so don't let the details bug you too much.

Overall I like the PowerDuo.  The name makes it sound like it should be on Adam West's Bat Belt, and it is more in the class of the Skeletool/Octane as far as functions go, although it's size puts it against larger tools.  SOG has a habit of making bulky tools, so I'm not certain if this is a drawback or tradition, but so far the PowerDuo hasn't failed in any tasks I've put it against.

That doesn't make it special, that makes it a good tool, which also covers about 90% of the tools we talk about here.  I like it though, and it's a tool I would consider a serious contender for urban type EDC- assuming you are a sheath guy.

Speaking which, I like the sheath.  It has a plastic clip that allows to to put it on or take it off very easily, or if you aren't a belt wearer you can clip it on your waistband or backpack strap, Maxpedition bag or anywhere else ou may want to clip it.  This is a largely underrated feature in modern multitools in my mind, and is one of the major reasons my father is now inseperable with his PowerAssist.

Again I can't understand why no pocket clip. Especially if it's in line with skele tools and crucials.
