Just ordered the Paratool.
on: May 24, 2012, 09:48:45 PM
I just ordered the Paratool in SS.
I already have the Powerpliers, PPP and the Crosscut. I will order the Power Assist in the future.

The Paratool looked promising in video clips.
Regards
Johan

I received my Paratool today, the very same day I came out of hospital.
I am satisfied with my buy. The quality is very good and there are no play.
I notice there are two washers in the one side (2 single slots worth) for short implements or for example the ¼" driver.
I also notice the screws are not spanner tool screws, but rounded Allen Key screws. It is more professional.

Joke: Fathersday gift from me to me.

The joke would be even funnier if you were in the hospital for a vasectomy!   :ahhh

Seriously I hope it was nothing serious.  Let us know how you get on with the ParaTool.  I know some folks love it and some folks hate it, with very few middle grounders.

I was taken up in hospital for a kidney stone that was surgically removed after I was not able to get rid of it naturally. The real surgery is Tuesday when I have to go for an osteotomy.

To get back to the Paratool. I am impressed with the quality and the well thought design. The tool is a worthwhile addition to my collection.

Johan

Good luck with that- as someone prone to kidney stones myself I know how unpleasant that can be.  In fact, the launch of this website many years ago was put off due to a particularily bad bout with kidney stones.

In case anyone has never experienced kidney stones, here's a short comparison.

When I have them I make several trips to the hospital, my record is six times in one week.  When I crushed my foot I went home to sleep it off.  If that doesn't give you an idea of how painful kidney stones are then I can't help you.

I have one of the sheaths from Dix Leatherworks that is for a paratool.  Does anyone know if the outside dimensions have changed on the tool over the years or just the inside tools and pivots?

I believe the tool itself, at least as far as dimensions go, is unchanged from the original.

Thanks. I may have to get one of the newer ones. I noticed the finish of the newer ones is better than the older models.
