While the thought is appreciated, I don't buy pink things just to have pink things. As far as I can tell, the only good thing about pink tools (like Tomboy Tools) is that most guys won't steal them if you're on a job site.

My hubby carries a Victorinox Classic, and I've just talked him into trying a Micra as an alternative, but the Classic is, for its weight, an incredible tool. I have also been looking at the Rambler, after seeing the recent posts on the custom job by Bushidomosquito.

I'm not certain what 'awareness' edition means (whether it actually involves some proceeds going to an organization that fights breast cancer), but I rather suspect that most guys are just as much in support of Breast Cancer Awareness as ladies, and I'd like to think the pink transparent scales wouldn't dissuade guys, particularly collectors.

I've watched a lot of SoulSurvivorX2's youtube videos... probably not for the same reason some of you are interested... She had a good series on food packing for hiking, like you guys care, or noticed, or ... hello? Anyone listening?

This will get your attention, and back on subject...

A few years ago I managed to raise £375 GBP (around $500 USD) for research into breast cancer by abseiling down this building ...

Heck man!  I'd pay to have a go at rapping off that!  The best part of climbing is the rappel back down.  :)

First time I'd ever had a go at it. 200ft down the outside of the rear lift shaft with Territorial Army supervision. Had to stop to re-think halfway down as I'd not realised how long a 100ft pendulum can be off the wall  :ahhh :ahhh :D

Quite an experience for someone who struggles past the fifth rung of a ladder

I don't know how long your rappel was, but for me 70 M is the max I've done (I don't have any longer ropes...)

Supposedly a 200ft drop (though the full building is 249ft), so about the same really

They did another organised one down the Arts Tower nearby a couple of years after which is 255ft and I think that was full height of the building, but I didn't do that one

My husband is in IT/library science. He's not exactly 'outdoorsy'. He thinks I'm totally insane,
but he loves me, so...

As for the effectiveness of that awareness video, I have to agree. It makes every man understand the importance of saving the boobies. The slow-mo is... emm... effective.

There's a thread in the Leatherman area for Pink leathermans for breast cancer awareness as well.
Seems maybe the MT folks are on a kick, which is awesome.

A woman who likes MT's, SAK's, guns, knives, camping, fishing, hiking, caving, hunting and so on?  What man wouldn't be in love!?

I'm particularly fortunate that my wife likes all these things too!  Not to the same degree I do of course, but enough to make me happy!  (Though she still complains and gets PO'd when I spend more than I should on this kind of stuff...)

Advantage of being single? My SO accepts my rants about silly steels, I accept her rants about silly linguistic frameworks. I really don't see any advantage in not having a person around who is capable of both nodding friendly to an OCD rant and pointing out that perhaps not the entire rest of the world sees this monumental problem the same way as you do. (Also, while I have learned enough about her field to confuse people around me, she owns several SAKs and won't use inferior products. Some games aren't zero sum, everybody wins.)

Also, neither my SO or me can be called very outdoorsy (tough both of us appreciate a good hike in fair weather), we just like to be self-sufficient, thus, multi-tools.

The definition of lesbian is described as sexual and romantic desires between females. I don't see male participant anywhere in the definition. :D
