After a long discussion in another forum, we figured there wasn't really a topic devoted to our pets :D

So here we go :D

What's your pet? What's his/her name? :D What can s/he do? Share anything you like about your pets :D

Mine is a female dog, adopted from the street. Her name's Rusi... and she can.... eat. A lot. :D

Some older puppy-pictures :D

Some more recent...

Nice doggy!  That one with the bright yellow eyes and fangs shows one fierce creature!  Great pics.  :D

I have 4 cats but want a dog...  a shepherd to be specific.

LOVE this series of pictures.  :tu:

She says thanks :D

And in the first one she looks mad... but then she was only playing... :D I guess it would be difficult for one who doesn't know her to tell when she's just playing and when really wants to bite (as she used to do when protecting her food).

Are you sure your four cats will take to the shepherd? :D

All 4 cats are female and based on someone I know who has a cat friendly female shepherd, I have hopes it would work from a puppy.

Here are our 2 big dogs.  Dyson's wearing the socks (helps prevent him from chewing his feet.)  Kiona is in the background.

Both are Ridgebacks.

I see... interesting. Good luck :D

Mr. Whippy

I love Dyson's eyes! :D

Chewing? Any idea why he does it? Mine sometimes chews her... fingers/toes/some part of her front paw... sometimes I think it's the nail *crazy* But she doesn't cause any damage, actually.
Interesting that he tolerates the socks.

Hardly.  Dyson likes to trot along for a leisurely 2-3 miles and then he's done.  Kiona?  He has tender toes.  After a few miles he wants to sit in the grass and smile.

The little Jack Russell here:

(Jimmy Dean!) could run a full 15K at a 9:15 pace with no problem.  (Sadly, a Mothersmurfer ran over him last fall on our farm  >:()

Skin allergies (actually Atopic Dermatitis).  He likes snug fitting clothing.  I think it quells the itching.

Rusi was ridiculously cute as a pup, though she still looks like a great dog now. :)

(Image removed from quote.)

I only know a few letters of the Cyrilic alphabet, and not knowing Bulgarian doesn't help either. :) What does it say in the thought bubble?

Both are Ridgebacks.

I've never been around Ridgebacks. How is their temperament?

Ridgebacks are different than most dogs.  They really aren't affection driven.  Food is the primary motivator (for training purposes).  They could care less if you call them "Good Dog!"

They are fairly protective of their family however.  They play by rearing up and wrestling with their front legs.  I've never seen another dog do this instinctively like this.

They are fast as all get out when they want to be.  If there is a soft bed, couch or chair, that is the first place to look for them.  Despite having a relatively light coat, they handle cold weather extremely well.

They're supposed to like running, but ours seem to have a bit of a lazy streak.  ::)

Yeah, she was indeed very cute :D In the bubble it reads: "Can't get if I'm lazy or just bored" :D :D She was sitting so funny with her head lying on the stool :D As a puppy she was in the habbit of falling asleep while standing :D

Now THAT sounds a lot like my stray, lol. She may be in yuor lap, all loving & playing & calm... and once someone gets to eat even an apple, she's all around them and doesn't give a da*n about you.... traitor.

nuphoria,
WOW, in the second picture he/she (? :D) looks leopardish :D
Love the black dog's snout, too *in love* Ok, love the whole of him... lol.

Thanks for the translation, N_N_R. I guess lazy and bored is a distinct possibility in that posture, too. :D

nuphoria, Ruby looks incredibly friendly in these pictures. Good thing you are helping her do her part for improving the bad rep Staffys have many places.

This is our cat, Minerva. She was purchased from a shelter. The shelter had a special on adoption for animals over 1 year old. She's now about 2, and as you can see, takes her job of defending our home against all arthropod invaders very seriously. Or maybe she's asleep. Hard to tell.

I posted in another thread that I have allergies to cats, but I have tolerated her very well. Russian Blues (which is certainly what she appears to be) tend to not cause too much problems for folks with allergies.

Like all cats, she sleeps a lot, but she will get all excited by seeing a squirrel or bird outside, race around the house, and attack random toys. She LOVES chasing paper balls (you know, ya buy $50 worth of cat toys and her favorites are paper balls, and cardboard boxes). Of course, my hubby does 15 minutes of laser pointer time for her every night. And she really is an insanely devoted bug hunter. We had a huge spider problem in this house before we got her, but she loves hunting and eating them so much, we made a new word, 'asnacknids', to describe a fair portion of her diet. :D

His daddy was a big stray tabby and his mother a delicate grey oriental. He came out like a very long spotty/stripy silver tabby with the chatty mouth of a Siamese! Front to back paws stretched, he measures a metre :D

Me too. :(

He had been my running partner for almost 10 years.  Janene and I can still hardly talk about it.  Actually, we put in an automatic gate across the driveway.  That way people have to stop before continuing up to the house.

The damnest thing is, we had just had the driveway redone.  We thought we were making it easier for people (fewer potholes).  I would have never believed that people would consider it their personal freakin' speedway.  >:(
