I found an old CD case chock full of old Boot and Maximum PC cover-discs. Talk about a blast from the past. Got the very first Boot CD dating back to 96, and even the first Maximum PC disc that dates to September 98. My last Maximum PC disc dates to April 2000. I guess after that, I stopped collecting them. I had forgotten I even had these.

First thing I did was to pop in the first Boot disc. It didn't work as it needed some Apple software to install, and that was a no go on a Win 10 system. I did manage to get into the first Maximum PC disk however. I think I may spend hours tomorrow looking them over.

With that said, I remembered how good Boot magazine was back in the mid 90's. I didn't much care for the Maximum PC change that happened in 98. It was a pale imitation of the original Boot's over the top cutting edge gear reviews and focus. Funnily enough, Maximum PC is still going, and I guess that is a testament of success seeing how many magazines have come and gone during that time. These days, there are not many PC related magazines to buy. I guess that is a sad testament of the whole magazine industry these days. I love photography, and for me, Popular Photography was the best magazine out there. I grew up with that magazine, and loved the gear reviews, etc. Now that magazine died back in 2017, there are no other photography magazines I want to buy anymore. As I walk into local stores I see less and less magazines for sale. I think possibly their time as a medium may go much like that of the news paper.

Anyways, it is kinda cool to have found a bunch of 90's cover-discs. I can't describe the feeling of buying a magazine with an included Cover-disks. Those were good times. Hard to believe I am talking 20+ years. Man I feel old lol. The internet has accrued quite a few casualties.

I had plenty of these over the years, and pretty much each time I moved I binned a bunch of them.

Yes, I have some vintage stuff I kept over the years in spite of all the moves.

Bundled games from old graphics cards, and similar things... some real gems hidden away  ;)

 :tu:

I have been cleaning the smaller upstairs room and also found some old kinder Surprise toys in a grocery bag. Now I am thinking it would be kinda cool to buy some sort of free standing DVD storage rack to display them as a sort of interesting collection. These also come from the early  2000s. Yes, I am incorrigible.  :D
