Molly's life is eat, poo, run around like a loon, sleep.  Heavy emphasis on the sleep.

Just be glad the emphasis is not on one of the first two options, mate...

Just like Xmas presents, some would rather play with the box, look, he's got a totally padded bed yet sleeps in the most uncomfortable positions?

She's doing great. :)  However she does NOT like being on a lead.  Any training tips very welcome.

When Millie was a puppy I took her to training classes.  It was great for her and also got her soSmurfpillsed with other dogs at an early age. The main thing is lots of patience, and a little reward when she gets it.  I used wafer thin sandwich chicken for Millie as her reward. At the classes she learnt to sit, stay, lay down and things like that, but she was a loony on her lead until she was about 2 years old. She was wanting to run off everywhere so I used one of those retractable leads. Over time she calmed down and learned to walk properly at heel, so once she did she was allowed to be off her lead.

Are you using a harness or a collar? That can change the way they act on a lead.  She's only young though so will be a loony for a while wanting to get into everything.

We're using a collar (which she's fine with) but the moment the lead goes on it gets chewed.  We've started on "fetch", which works about 50% of the time.  She always chases, but doesn't always bring things back. :D  "Sit" is already there.  Things like "down", "leave it", "no" and "drop it" are a work in progress.

No idea on that one, that's one thing I never got Millie to stop doing (not that I tried to hard). Even when she was off her lead she wanted to play tug of war with her lead. The last 18 inches of the lead was the same material collars and harnesses are made of so I just let her play tug of way with me, it used to make me smile so I saw no harm in it. She did it all of her life

Is she pulling or just generally unruly on the lead. If she pulls a gentle leader might help. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00074L4W2

I used a choke chain or slip collar with Rosie and that worked with her. It does take time and consistency though. Some puppies get it quicker than others. Rosie is a stubborn dog so it took a while for her.

generally just jumps around and stops listening to us.  I'll definitely have a look at the gentle leader.  We've made a little progress today by having her pegged out on a long lead in the garden and distracting her with toys.  By the end she was mostly ignoring the lead.  Still didn't like it when I picked it up, but I'll take it as a win. :D

Glad to hear you made a little progress Gareth. Treats and time are your friend.

Bonnie has had this rubber turkey since xmas and it's only now beginning to fall apart. It's her birthday tomorrow (3rd) so we have bought her a new toy. She loves this one though.....

Great pic mate. :tu:

Molly can be a bit fickle about toys.  Last week it was squeaky tiger, then it was a soft rubber ball, now it's a rope tied into a monkey's fist knot.  We've also got lots of different texture toys for her to gnaw on.
