I have to say you are shorter than I imagined, but that's a lovely looking pony you have there. :tu:

Horse not pony.   ;)   :)

Fair enough.  I'm obviously struggling with the scale in your pics.  :D

Milo can't get a break, he got attacked by a border terrier while I was walking him tonight. He's met it many times but tonight it grabbed him and ragged him.

He's got puncture wounds in his chest which the vet says aren't deep and are ok, but he's not bearing weight on one of his front legs. The vet hopes it's just muscle pulls but he'll assess in the morning and xray etc if needed.  He's all doped up when I left him to calm him down due to his heart condition.

So we'll see what the morning brings.

The owners of the other dog couldn't be more apologetic. Their dog is daft as a brush, so who knows why she turned tonight. They are covering all the vet bills.

So sorry to hear that mate. :(  I hope he's doing well.

The vet just called, and it's good news.  He's walking on his injured leg this morning so it's looking like his shoulder isn't broken, the vet thinks its just muscular.  The vet has said due to his heart condition he wouldn't survive being put under for xrays and an operation so its really great news.

We can pick him up in half an hour but he has to be confined to a small cage for the next few weeks. He's got to go back on Tuesday for a follow up to check on his leg.

Yeah he's really had it rough this last year, but for a tiny dog he's turned out to be a tough resilient little one.  He's not going to like the cage one bit, he's had the run of the house all his life and he has the entire couch to himself usually. He sleeps a lot nowadays so hopefully he will heal up nicely and he can have the couch back again.

He's coming home with antibiotics, pain killers and anti inflammatories so he'll love taking that lot I'm sure. My mum is picking him up as I'm stuck at work till after my meeting, so I'll leave at lunch to go spoil him rotten.

Playing with other dogs is always a bit of a danger, no matter what size they are.  When my Daisy was a lot younger (but still a very large animal) she was bitten badly at the dog park by a poodle.  Generally speaking, when you hear that there was a biting incident involving a German Shepherd/Rottweiller mix and a poodle you generally think the big, aggressive dog was the problem child, but not in this case.

Luckily it was limited to only one serious puncture wound that wasn't noticed until later, but it was in the side of her rib cage, and, if you shone a light into it you could see all manner or squishy bits that shouldn't normally be visible from the outside of an animal.  We took her to the vet who shaved a bit around it, applied some topical cream and bandaged it, then told us to give her antibiotics for any nasties that may have gotten in and sent us home.

Dog teeth are nothing to mess with- I have got my share of scars from breaking up dog fights, and I can tell you that when they say not to break up dog fights they probably have a very good point.  A neighborhood dog was loose a few weeks ago and got too close to Daisy and he two of them went at it.  I tried to break it up and almost lost a finger to my own dog.  Luckily no one else was hurt, but even now my finger still isn't 100%.

I hope Milo bounces back quickly.  I am sure he will, dogs don't waste a lo of time complaining about how much something hurts or how they are limited, which allows them to get better so much faster.  :D

Def
Leave the dents as they are- let your belongings show their scars as proudly as you do yours.

Thank you  :tu:

Not too bad a night last night I think. Gave him his painkillers at his bedtime to help him settle. He hates the cage so did the puppy trick of putting the tshirt I wore yesterday in with him and he snuggled into it.

He settled finally around midnight and woke me just after 6am so not bad really. He's in a lot of pain but he's bearing weight on his bad shoulder/leg a little more.

He's eating, drinking and going potty properly which is a good sign and let's me know well in advance that he needs carrying outside to go.

It's looking positive, though that front leg worries me a lot.
