Cute pic of Molly !


Rosie's eight month run of being seizure free ended last night. I woke up to her having one just after midnight last night. It wasn't a bad one but still not fun. She is doing fine though and hopefully we can go another long time till her next one.

What I thought would be months turned out to be weeks......

I had to phone the vet yesterday, my Hansie was put to sleep around 10am and I burried him between a Guava and Chinese Elm tree.  :cry:  :cry:

Seeing him go backwards so fast has been really tough, sitting at home yesterday I looked up a million times expecting his face at the door.

He was my companion during a dark time, and a few months later I could give him the home he needed.

Been doing a lot of thinking and realised it wasn't about having a dog, which I think is a right and good state of affairs.......it was about him...

I know we all love our dogs, but he was an absolute character and did very unique things that showed his intelligence..........and he was for sure the only kick-boxing dog I've ever seen!  :rofl:

I was always a little resentful that he wasn't mine from puppy, but it was great to earn his trust over the last few years and become more "my dog".

You feel like a betrayer holding him while the needle goes in, but he got a few thousand "good boys" as he went  :cry:  :cry:

I was watching a JRE podcast about a protest outside a restaurant by some vegans, the owner responded by butchering a piece of meat where they could see....

During the interview they mentioned how cruelly animals die in a natural setting.....like getting eaten alive.

Animals have only the instinct to survive, I know I did the right thing, I know I spared him a lot of pain
But I also know he would choose to live if he could, even if that means dying horribly.

It was so nice in our computer/exercise/hobby room, only being mid 50’s but with that sun hitting that back wall I had to open the window to do a few little project, but someone still wanted to look outside, and since I needed the chair and the window was open he made himself at home!

I took Molly along to try a bit of easy going dog agility training yesterday.  She had an absolute hoot on almost everything except the seesaw.
