Rosie isn't doing well. For the last week or so her back right leg has not been working very well. It has gotten worse over the weekend and she can't bare any weight on it. I'm going to try and get her in to my vet today. This is worrisome as this is her good leg, she's had problems with her other hind leg in the past. I don't think it's an injury but a nerve thing like neuropathy.

I've been having to carry her up the stairs for the last few days  :(

Just got back from the vet. The good news is that it isn't a nerve related thing. The bad news is she has torn her ACL. Nothing to do but to let it heal and let the other ligaments take up the slack.

Rosie's doing a bit better everyday but it will be awhile I think ,  she may never be running around again but that's okay. This " Help me up harness "  works really well and she can do the stairs again with me helping take the weight off her hind legs.  :tu:

Aw Rosie.  Well my old guy is quite a bit slower and has lost hearing and some eye sight but he's fiesty.  I don't move anything furniture wise as he's used to the path to his water and food.  He get really playful but tires quickly.  Heck I feel the same dang way sometimes too .  We're both getting older together.

Anyone every make a doggy potty?
Like a kids sandbox with wood chips, sand, or gravel,
Something or some area specificity for doggy duty’s?
I’m getting tired of walking the yard to find the lawnmines, the Mrs and I are thinking of taking one space that never gets used and making a boxed in area, laying a fabric so nothing grows, then putting something down over top to make it easy to spot and easy to clean, every time the dog pees and it rains it will just get soaked into the ground, so it’s just poop pick up, it would be nice to make some type of compost I don’t think anyone’s going to like it being to close to the sidewalk

I've heard of people using an area of artificial grass before but not tried anything like it myself.

I’m getting tired of the grass, yeah the nice large clumps are nice but the smaller ones sneak through and you can’t get a good grip, then the next time your cleaning up you step in it, plus you got cleanup, for whatever you don’t get, you got to get a bucket of hot water and pour over, hoping you don’t step in it while trying to find it, should get those little wire flags!

I'm not sure whether you'll have much success with this idea with a dog.  While cats like to poop in the same spot all the time, from what I've seen dogs prefer to avoid "lawnmines", and their noses are pretty good at locating spots that previously had one (even after it has been picked up).

Our solution is to keep the lawn mown short, and do regular pick-up patrols.

Feeding good quality food can reduce the quantity being produced (many cheap dog foods are mostly undigestible fillers, and make the "lawnmines" smellier).

He actually sticks around the same area, and the lawn is cut pretty short, I mean not golf short but still short, as far as pick up I pick up as soon as he’s finished, sometimes one of those mini ones sneak off, the other thing is at first there rock hard, later in the day medium, then by night a medium and can even be like a caulking gun. Yet we stick with a good dog food,,
