We have a few long meandering threads here that keep cropping up from time to time- one being the Gerber Cool Tool thread, and another being the [urlhttp://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,12943.0.html]Powerful Pete thread[/url] in the Gadget Freak forum.  These threads keep popping up because the tools that inspired them are interesting enough that so many people have either seen them, owned them or are looking for info on them, and we seem to be about the only site with any reference to them.

Well, here's another chance for folks who have a Powerful Pete to show off!  Here's my Powerful Pete:

It looks like these were a popular item for advertisements back in their day, and to be honest, they were brilliant, as this is the kind of thing that people would carry and use or have around the house for years and your product or service would be seen literally thousands of times over.

I just recently got mine, and judging by the date (1925-1950) I'd have to assume that this one came from 1950 (or thereabouts) and has only the slightest of scratches on it.  This is one of the oldest tools I have in my collection, and it looks like I just bought it at a Mom & Pop hardware store this afternoon!

So, who else has a Powerful Pete?  Come on, don't be shy, show it off!

Def you need to polish out the 'corn' reference  >:D >:D :D :D.

They look very neat , there does not seem to be a lot of meat around the split ring attachment point  .

Amici,
I am completely unaware that something such as this was ever in circulation, especially back around 1950! Thanks for sharing..

Cheers,
Serge

There were lots of multi function tools around long before Tim Leatherman came along!  :D

Now that's what I expect a tool from the '50's to look like!

Does anyone know if these are still in production?

I can't vouch for the Powerful Pete, but Sears still carries their 4-Way Screwdrivers for $0.99 each.  I still want to find a bulk source for them one day for less. >.>
