Wenger 100th anniversary Jahre
on: April 26, 2012, 06:20:18 AM
Hi

I got a Wenger 100th anniversary Jahre for $79 USD.

Is this a good price? It comes with the knife, leather case but missing the black box and certificate.

See there.

Are these rare?

Thanks.

Did you look up past auction results? That would be the best way to see what they are worth, on average.

I think it was a good bet on your part. It may not be worth much more now, but I don't think it would go down much either. At a certain point, it will certainly start to go up in value; it is just a matter of how old you are and whether you will live to see that day. ;)

Pass results seem to be around $90 for the knife plus leather case, black box and certificate.

It is a nice knife so I will go with it and buy it( I should have not said I GOT it, I bidded on it and won)(person gave me the option of refund as theres no certificate).

Is it sharpened?

Looks OK to me. Probably just some edge irregularities. Not everyone is perfect.

What is this black box people are talking about?  These generally have a white slip cover over the grey leather hard case... I don't think I've seen any with a black box.

I have 3. Two came in a grey leather box with a white lining, blade marked 90. Guess I am missing the white cover slip for both, and a third with no box, but the blade has the date 91.

If anyone is interested I found some of these on the bay.  Tempted, but I think I've bought enough SAKs to last me till Summer.  :D

Actually, shouldn't have limited this request to Chako but I saw he said he had some.

Whatever tool/knife you can think of, Chako has some. Doesn't mean he's willing to part with them, though.
