Rebar/Pulse

I saw it mentioned elsewhere, and it's true. If you like the retired Pulse and it's weight and dimensions, I think you'll like the Rebar too. Except for the difference in tool locks, no scissors, and replaceable cutters, they're remarkably alike.

It was something that, over the years, came up several times on the forum; the wish for a Pulse II/Pulse300 or whatever.  Now, whether LM's thinking was just in line with ours or they were actually listening to us I don't know, but they do seem to have come up with something pretty close to what we wanted.

Now if I could just persuade them to drop the superfluous serrated blade and give us some scissors I'd be a very happy man. :D

And if they'd start using diamond files again. :/

God yeah, diamond file and scissors would make this a serious winner :tu:

I brought the similarities in the two tools up in another thread.  When I held the two up together, I swear that Leatherman may have even used the same tooling.  Also, I have been playing with the REBAR constantly and can't find a complaint.  Sure, you can always have different tool layout, but this is one slick tool.  I love the aggressive file and awl.  Last night I showed it to a couple of my friends who carry a PST and a WAVE.  They literally freaked when the saw the pliers.   :tu:

If I could put that plier head in a pulse I would be very happy :)
But it seems a bit chunkier than the pulses pliers.

Oh man I STILL miss my pulse!!!  The Rebar is shockingly Pulse-esque though, I agree.  I still can't get over how awesome the pliers are.

How the HECK did LM leave out scissors?? And I also, once you've used their diamond file, every other file just doesn't cut the mustard. They should be standard across their product line, dammit!

I would say they must make the handle a little broader/thicker so that they can add a scissors and something else like a very fine driver as well.

I am using a ST300 currently and the serrated edge blade is used regularly as it cuts so much better the rough stuff. And since I have now mastered the art of serrated blade sharpening, it is tops.

Last note, I just wish LM will adopt the option of allowing the end-user to adopt a system like the SOG where you don't loose the guarantee when you change the tools or add some of the tools. I am sure they will make even more money. Then the end-user will have the perfect tool that he wants.
Regards
Johan
