Noticed some of my cucumbers coming up last evening as well as some radishes.  Lots of peaches setting fruit as well as some red and bush cherries :dd: Love this time of year :like: Grapes are also starting to form the tiny little cluster that eventually turn into grapes as well :tu: It looks like this is going to be a productive year so far :cheers:

The house I'm at has a grape vine out back thats been neglected however its really come back to life.  I'm going to take a look at it Monday and take a picture.   I'd imagine not all grapes are meant as table fruit or are they?  Maybe after I snap a picture someone can tell me more. 

I decided to remove the Sago pups from the tree out front.  I managed to free one terrific specimen sorry I didn't have my phone on me so no pic.  Its in the garage "hardening" for a few weeks.  I'll pot it and hope for the best.  Momma plant is wonderful with a few more pups to harvest.

All I have are table grapes I think :think: I do have 3 muscadine vines but they are young yet and came from seed (just for fun to see what they would do :tu: ) so who knows what they will produce :shrug:  I started them from grape seeds in winter of 2013 in a barrel to stay over winter and stratify and out of 25 seeds 3 came up and after a year there moved them to where they are now and they are finally starting to show a bit of good growth :like:

Love to see a pic of the vine you have and see if I can help identify it though :salute: :like:

Now when we got here the vine was ( dead ) or it looked that way.  It sits in the corner against the fence and was severely neglected.  A few rain showers later and some light pruning along with some weeding and its sprung back to life.  Maybe it was asleep? 
I have no clue what variety it is or what I should do to it.

My first thought is that it is wine grapes instead of table grapes :think: I also think if that is the case then pruning is different for these as well :shrug:

I would wait until late winter for the next prune and then prune a good 50 or 60% of it off and see how it goes with that :tu: I can't remember if it is spur or cane prune TBH though ::) :D

It looks to be in good health at the moment :tu: When grapes are a more mature then you might be able to get an idea of the variety as well :cheers: An expert would be able to tell you the variety but I am not one though :whistle: :D

So I've decided to begin a garden.  Mostly for fun/hobby/future benefits of produce.  I have a nice little plot and really want to plant in ground but seems like raised beds might be more fruitful.  I have 2 composting piles going right now and one has really broken down quickly and with little effort.  Its been about 2 or so months.  The other I covered and tended to and its not broken down as quickly.  I want to construct discarded pallet beds.  The area I have has been planted and the soil looks really nice and is loose/drains really well.  The only problem.........  See below.

The squash is butternut squash, I've also got pumpkin and courgette. The corn is golden bantam I think, just a standard sweetcorn variety.  I've tried growing it twice and never got full ears off it.

Try an earlier variety of corn next year, maybe Sunglow from Park's Seeds.

Courgette is what we call zucchini over this side of the pond.

Thanks for the corn info, i'll see where I can source some over here and try that for next year.  I'm starting my seed list ready for next year. I was late off the mark this year so things aren't as far along as they should be.  Hopefully winter won't last right through to May next year.

I was rather impressed, my cousin might be an airline pilot but his projects at home are a struggle most of the time......

He's put together a little Aquaponic setup with a few small Tilapia, he has a cucumber, miniature tomato  and few others.....seems to be working!

My bonsai are on autopilot, and I'm a bit frustrated  by the lack of sunlight where I do have space to grow some food.

I have more Basil than I need, but that's it  :facepalm:

I was given a Bonsai yesterday.  Its not in the best shape but there are some new leaves.  I'll post up a picture later today so y'all can tell me what I have and whats next for this neat little tree.  The previous owner passed away 7 months ago but his health has been in decline for a while.  I think lack of care and water were the main issue.
