The Pocket Sharpener Question

I usually use a sharpmaker, love it.  I'm needing a small pocket sharpener for touch ups.  What do you recommend.  I've looked at the double stuff and dc3 & 4 what are the other options out there for a low cost? ($20 or so?)

DMT has a lot of fans here, Gatco has nice crock sticks, Victorinox has a nice pocket knife sharpener and pocket diamond hone... All of them should do the job just fine within your budget.

I keep a Lansky Dog Bone Sharpener in my bag it works very well.

I like the Victorinox "Pen" shaped sharpener. It sits in my workbag every day.

Another great sharpener, very inexpensive, is the Fiskars knife sharpener sold by IKEA. Too big for EDC, but great for backpacking or camping duty - and as an everyday sharpener in your kitchen!

My favourite is Byrds Duckfoot. Great concept, works really well and makes sharpening as simple as cutting bread. A little too heavy for EDC, but a great companion to a Sharpmaker, because the diamond coated surface on the Duckfoot makes sharpening really dull blades easier, and the Sharpmaker does the fine work afterwards.

The Spyderco "Doublestuff" ( both white and brown stones ) is great . DMT has a couple of nice diamond pocket stones , of which I prefer the "fine " ones . I also have a small strop in a ziplock bag . YMMV .

Amici,
Gerber makes a nice pocket/key ring sized sharpener consisting of two types of ceramic rods, one course and the other side a pair of fine rods. I like it, and it seems to do a good job for quick touch ups.
