Used the awl of my Rebar today to help replace a door latch assembly on my truck. Control rods that bridge the gap between interior door handle and the latch, or exterior door handle and the latch...these rods are held in place by thin clips that slide over the tab and ends of the rods. They had to be removed before the latch would come free.

In the pics, the clip in the palm of my hand slides over the tab that the awl is pointed to. Then the blue end of the rod is forced through the hole in the tab, also through the clip. Easy to assemble back up,  but it was the toughest, most fiddly part of the job to undo in the first place.

During the process I also used Rebar to remove/ replace the odd Philips screw, and to help pull the nylon tabs that held the electrical harness in place.

The door now closes as it should instead of leaving a quarter inch gap that rattled over every bump and allowed wind and rain in. Back to some semblance of normalcy, althoughthough a 24 year old K1500 Blazer Silverado always presents me with something else to work on.

The heat is not working. That may be the next project before this New England winter.

Knock on wood but although it needs some work, it starts right up and runs as well as my girl's Nissan Murano.

She may not look like much, but, she's got it where it counts.

Your girl or your truck?

I saw it right after I posted it!

The truck for sure. My girl...? I suppose depending on one's tastes and preferences...whether or not she had seen the original Star Wars to understand that line...and whether or not she happened to be standing over my shoulder as I write this...well, she's definitely got it where it counts.

Fixed my elderly neighbours tap this morning. She's Devonian and selectively deaf and i'm Jockanese (Scottish), so Mrs Fuzzbucket acted as interpreter.

Now, the PST can't take full credit for the work carried out, but it did take out the little fiddly screw at the top and did all the necessary poking about... with ease i might add!

PST's pointing at what was left of the washer:

Used Wave again today to cut a 2mm stranded wire and attach into a metal stick in the ground in order to get my electric outlet grounded again and get rid of hiss and noise while especially playing an electric guitar with single coils. Cut the wire really carefully at first,  but I quickly realized that Wave will accomplish that mission with pride . Then used bit driver to tighten a screw. Will add pics a bit later so you’d have a better idea.

P.S.: now my American Standard Tele sounds bloody amazing again being played through my Mesa/Boogie F30 amp

I used my OHT to divide the Lamingtons I brought to cricket in half so they would go further.

Busy day for my Wave - screwing, stripping, cutting and almost anything you can imagine while rewiring my Tele. Traditionally there is one volume and one tone control on a Telecaster. Kinda cool, but I never really use the tone, however I’d love to have two separate volume controls for each of the pickups. Now I have just that

Was there originally a tone control for each pickup?

Nope, just a regular Tele setup - one tone and one volume + a 3-way switch

My Firebird has that too, however I never really use tone controls there too

Tightened a loose power outlet screw at work

P.S.: I love my Wave and the bit kit + extender. A single tool allows me to do anything I want anywhere anytime. I also carry my Vic Forester, but honestly only use it to slice bread and fruits. It has no locking tools I need and I find it really dumb and that’s why I prefer Wave for any non-food related tasks.
