Prepped a casserole almost entirely with my LM wave. Used the plain edge blade primarily, but even opened up a can or two along the way!

I brought an old high voltage power supply out to the road for garbage pickup and used the Leatherman Wave's wire cutters to snip off the power plug.

I used my Kick to help with fixing the topper on my truck.  Strong winds last night tore it off twice.  I had to to tie it down with rope and bunge cords.  It is now in the dump.

I used my Micra to snip open a butcher's packing paper of cod fillets. Those fillets are marinating now for the last 4 minutes (of 30) in lemon juice & salt, then, I'll coat them with olive oil and season with cayenne pepper and cumin.

I also tried (partially successful) to pick something from between my teeth with the hook tip on the nail file.

Damn, I wish Leatherman would figure out how to get toothpicks in their tools. Until that day, I can never really go without a SAK.

I changed a couple of old light switches in my mom's house yesterday. This first one was really old; had no snap action to it at all. Bakelite enclosure and actuator. Forgive the poor lighting: the power was off for this job, so the lighting was from a small LED task light, hanging from a peg nearby.

With the cover plate taken off, here's the guts. Note the fabric/rubber insulation, and the fact that Mom painted over the screws to make sure I lack no challenge. I used the medium flat screwdriver to chisel the paint out of the groove to remove it

The wires were firmly wrapped around the screws. The needlenose on my Surge came to the rescue. Electricians generally don't use needlenose much. A lineman's pliers is their usual choice. I've done this with a scewdriver, but it is a frustrating process:

Using the #2 phillips bit driver to fix the wires under the screws of the new switch:

Phillips again, to attach/ground the switch frame to the junction box. See how the actuator is clear? I splurged for the switches with the neon bulbs inside; a nice feature in a dark room. ;)

Flat head to attach this very pretty switch plate ;)

I did another one too, but it was a much more recent switch and more of the same. Didn't have time to repair the dining table chair or replace the light socket on a lamp in the basement. Maybe those will be the next installment? :)

I'd be very careful working with a Leatherman around electricity, especially around old houses. :ahhh At my place (not even that old, 35 years) some of the lights aren't connected to the main switch, they are bypassed somehow. So even when I turn the power off at the fuse box they still have power. Ask me how I know. :ahhh Always use insulated tools around electricity.

I was using my Juice S2 to rewire two new lamps.  And I've spent most of my day on a ladder trying to figure out the wiring of my house..

Used various implements on my Charge TTi to install two sets of motion detecting floodlights onto my garage... Later used the TTi to work on some lighting in the main bathroom in my house, still haven't figured that one out yet!

Used my OHT to replace a ceiling fan, install the new fan blades with the Philips, trim the wires with the cutters and insert the cotter pins on the supporting bolts with the pliers.
