Neither is the left handed liner lock, which I never even noticed was "backwards" until someone else mentioned it.

I'm trying to imagine how that must work.... it should actually be safer for a right-handed user because after releasing the lock your thumb is already to the right of the blade when it's coming down. ....or am I wrong here??  I love the Stayglow. I got some Stayglow scales from Felinevet for my Cybertool 34 and LOVE it now more than before.  :tu:

It's safer for a leftie.  A right-hander has to put his thumb in harm's way.

Why didn't they put the OH blade closer to the side rather than the middle?  I don't get the rationale there.

If you notice the OHT has the main blade "dead center" first layer is the openers, 2nd is the blade 3rd saw.

I noticed this when I first got it and my humble opinion I think it makes alot of sense.

The blade is easy to get to from the right or the left. If the blade was in the third layer I beleive it would make it harder to disengage the lock due to the scales being right there.

I had a Centurion that I found difficult to disengage because the liner was against the scales.

But that is my thoughts.

It took me a week or so to get used to my OHT. The hole and the blade position were not an issue, the size of the whole package was. Now it flicks open with ease, it takes a bit time to get used to it, but once you do it becomes part of you. A+ on the reverse liner.

Everyone complains that the liner lock is "reverse" on Victorinox knives.  Did anyone ever stop to consider that the reason it is set up that way is so that the liner lock can also be used on the large screwdriver/caplifter?

After a little practice, the Victorinox lock works just as well as any other.

I didn't even notice it was "backwards" until I read it on a forum...

The Wengers don't need to make the liner lock work on the screwdriver because they have their own automatic locking mechanism.

The two handed version is a difficult one to find and many collectors might be interested in taking it off your hand if you want the one hander:

I've always thought that Vic kind of had it backwards;it should be the rescue blade that's OH opening.I doubt that, and having a two hand straight edge blade would make it anymore palatable in some jurisdictions though.

I thought the rescue blade is one-hand opening  Was it Def or someone else showing off the Rescue Tool opening using jeans pocket?

The glass saw and rescue blade are one handed opening if you catch them on a seam or pocket.  I posted a video in this article:
