"On the old highway maps of America, the main routes were red and the back
roads blue. Now even the colors are changing. But in those brevities just before
dawn and a little after dusk — times neither day nor night— the old roads
return to the sky some of its color. Then, in truth, they carry a mysterious cast
of blue, and it's that time when the pull of the blue highway is strongest, when
the open road is a beckoning, a strangeness, a place where a man can lose
himself."   William Least Heat Moon

Hey Rebar gang, question. I got the jungle flavor rebar and it came with what looks to be a nicer leather holster. But my question is, I feel concerned with the back of the mounting and button rivets that are on the inside of the holster that they may scratch up the cerakote. Now I know this wouldn't be an issue with a stainless steel tool as much as a cerakoted one. Also these tools are users, but I like to take care of my gear as much as possible, I've always been like that. So...

(I didn't want to start a new thread, as we all own one here  :tu:)

Will this cause scratches and nicks or is it a non issue?

It looks to be a nicer sheath :o :like: :like: I have never had any problem with the rivets scratching but never paid attention to that either  If you are bothered by this you can always glue some tiny pieces of leather or cloth over them :tu:

Great pics and thanks for sharing this about the sheath

Good call man! I had put scotch tape over them temporarily. But maybe a more permanent solution would help. I will mention the holster is snug to begin with so it would have to be thin stock. I'll give that a shot probably. Thanks  :salute:

I used small pieces of Gorilla black duck tape, it's very strong and sticks to leather without any problem. Works perfect!

You're not kidding my friend!  A few years ago I was cutting brush with it and it slipped.  It cut, with very little effort whatsoever, into my knuckle right to the bone.  We just had a saw competition here between Wenger, Victorinox and Leatherman.  The Wenger S18 took first, Leatherman Signal took 2nd and Victorinox 3rd.  All 3 were so close to each other it was hard to pick but Leatherman has it down saw wise!
