Hey Peter,

Great to hear from you my friend.

I wish I could be more active in this topic, but real life keeps getting in the way, and when I finally find the time to take some new pics, I can't post them here because Imgur is acting up...

Anyway, happy to hear from you buddy .

Okay guys, I think I may have found a solution to my "Imgur photo-sharing problem"...

If all goes well, you guys should see some pics from the new car I bought in May 2024. My previous car, a Citroën Berlingo XTR Diesel from 2010 was starting to show its age, and being a diesel it was getting harder every year to get it through the yearly inspection, mostly because of the strict emmision rules we have here.

I've been dreaming of buying a Land Rover Defender (the previous model) from since I was like 10 years old, but I'm not a huge fan of the current "new" Defender, and with a starting price from around €67.000 I couldn't afford one even if I wanted to.

In the late 90's the Misses and I came accross a Suzuki Jimny (or a Suzuki Samurai, as they were called in the U.S. back then), and that little 4x4 immediately stole my heart.  But being a two seater it didn't go well with our plans to start a family, so I had to let it pass.

But now, our boys are 21 and 19 years old, so it's only our little girl (who will turn 10 in april) that I have to drive around, so the, Suzuki Jimny became an option again  :D.

Only problem was that the European Union had such strict emission laws by then, that Suzuki decided to pull the Jimny from the European market in the beginning of 2024, and they were getting really hard to find by then.

But luckily the Misses stumbled upon a Suzuki dealer who still had a new Jimny JB74 in stock, and it was even in my favorite colour.

Anyway, if all goes well, you guys should see some pics of my little precious, which I have been driving for the passed two years.

Fingers crossed :dwts:

I'll try to post some more pics in the near future, now that I've got Imgur working again, too bad I don't own a laptop anymore, I really dislike typing such long posts on a smartphone  ::).

This one took ages... It's 4:26 AM over here  :ahhh.

Hope you guys enjoy the pics  :salute:.

Well, they aren't being sold here anymore either :-\.

That's why this little Japanese car is currently one of the cars which best holds its value over here, they ones you find on the second hand market, being at least two years old, cost more than what I paid for mine brand new.

Not that I would ever part with my Jimny, it's a great, reliable little car, and a very capable offroader, and it puts a big smile on my face everytime I drive it  :D.

Such a cool car, Eric! I wanted the cheapest car and now I drive a Mitsubishi Space Star. Nothing to impress anyone with.

The usual scene this morning on my way to work. Finally, it's getting lighter for longer again.

Thanks Peter.

The Jimny isn't a car to impress people either, it's so cute that most people respond positive to it.   But underneath all the cuteness hides a real capable offroader, that's the cool part about it.

And other Jimny drivers often greet eachother while passing, like bikers do.

I'm hoping to have this one in my garage for the rest of my life.

Oh, and that "usual scene" in your pic is a dream landscape for a lot of us, such a beautiful country...

Thanks for posting it here my friend.

Hi Eric. Your car has already achieved cult status. I hope it lasts you for decades to come.

There are so many beautiful landscapes in this world, countless beautiful places, scenes, hidden gems.
Each of us has something special in our region; we just have to recognize it.

Today we visited the Swiss National Museum in Zurich.

Beautiful pictures Peter  :o.

And you're right, there's beauty everywhere (but I still think Switzerland is the most beautiful country in the world  :P).

Thanks for sharing your pics here my friend  :salute:.

Thanks, Eric, if you say so... ;)

Today was the carnival parade in Winterthur, my small hometown. Not as spectacular as the big, famous carnivals, but still 59, mostly local groups. We still enjoy going and appreciate the atmosphere and the many hours of work and creativity that go into it.
