Pics of your SAKs outside
on: May 28, 2012, 06:48:31 AM
Most pics on theese forums tends to be of SAKs on desks and such. As a follow up to derekmac's thread( http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,37815.msg607811.html#new), I am  starting a new thread where we all can show off our SAKs with pics taken outside.  The only requirement is that pictures must show your beloved SAK(s) outside in open air. (garden, street, roof, woods, field, lake, park and so on)

I'll start off with some I have taken recently.

My Onehanded Trekker in the woods.

But apparently the title scares people away ...

A couple other pics from the outing, but no SAKs in these.

+ one more with the Soldier from another camera.

Smurf... I just realized I had an Ivanhoe in my vest jacket pocket... she feels bad now that she didn't get her picture taken.  By the way if you like the Sportsman model, and who doesn't, Ivanhoe is probably the best version of this configuration.  I've been meaning to mod the can-opener on it and then she might be a serious EDC.  She's used with a few dings so no reason not to make her better.  I think she wants me to go back out, it should be cooling down so I just might.

Yup!  I don't carry it all the time, but it's a designated user.  Today it only got used for the photos, and to slice my apple when I got home.  I ran it 5 swipes on each side with the fine stones on the sharpmaker afterwards because I thought it was not quite as sharp as it should be, but I think the apple was actually extra crisp.  It's a beautiful knife and feels excellent while being used.  They just don't make 'em like they use to... except for this exception in 2009.  I blame Tim because he sent it with a very nice old style pouch that is perfect for it. So have pouch, will travel.

Not to worry though, on SAKs I like I follow the backup and the backup to the backups philosophy.  I'm looking for another on of these from Region 1 though, if any one has a deal on one.  I'm a little picky about the number if I'm paying top dollar.

Ivanhoe visited the green and black swamps, but saw nice moths, wild flowers, and horses.

Heres another picture of my Wenger Evo S111 "Planking" in the mouth of a Valkyrie's horse. Pic was taken in the park around Blaafageverket (Kobolt mines) in Norway with my cellphone. Hopefully this will ignite a storm of pictures of "planking" SAKs. :ahhh

Im glad you guys liked that one.

Here are some more Pics of my SAKs outside. Not as exciting as tha last one. This time its my brand new Pioneer, wich also happens to be my first (but not last) Alox, and mye new/old GAK.
I liked the background wich I used for the Tinker, and thought it would fit the Pioneer even better. Here's the result. Hope you like it.

Pioneer in 18th century wall.

This old GAK has been abused quite a bit. The blade is full og scratches and the tip of the blade had lost its edge completely. I ended up grinding a whole new (and a little uneven) edge on the blade, wich made it nice and sharp again. I'm not sure If I going to keep it as a quriosity for my collection, or give it to my son as his first folder/SAK when he becomes 8 or 9 years old. (thats 7-8 years from now ;) ) (I have already bought him his first sheath knife, a Mora Scout knife identical to my first knife, wich I will teach him to use when he becomes 5-6 years old. )

I hope there will be more of you posting pictures on this thread, and not just me posting closups of my SAKs.   ;)
