Dang that’s a lot of rain for only half the month.

I don’t think he posted yesterday…or he’s a day behind like I am? hope all is well with him.

I’m a day behind, as usual in these challenges.

Most of the damaging winds and tornadoes were north of us. We only saw moderate wind and heavy (but brief) rain, along with thunder and lighting, of course, as the storm moved through.
Current SAKs: Explorer, SwissChamp, Handyman (modded), Climber, Super Tinker, Tinker, Woodsman (modded), Electrician, Pioneer, SwissTool, Executive, Ambassador, Champion Plus

Day 17:

Used the large blade to cut my lunch.

We’re fine after the big storm; our power was only out for a few minutes. We were very fortunate compared to many others in Houston who still don’t have power.

That’s good to hear about you. Still awful for a lot of people. My cousin lives in Houston and lost power for a bit and was also lucky.

You want to use closing on a new home as an excuse to buy new tools?  Sure.  We'll go along with that. ;)

Well we only had 2 hammers and I can’t find my mallet since our last move… and there’s just so much to do from the inspection report.

Opened some new tools in preparation of closing on our new home soon.
Good call on dedicated hammers. That's a prime example of a multi not being the appropriate tool for the job.
Our power was only out for a few minutes. We were very fortunate compared to many others in Houston who still don’t have power.
It could definitely be worse. Toward the end of the winter of 2014, the Detroit area experienced a long and widespread power outage. Lots of people were without power during bitter cold. (That was just before Mrs. FX moved up here.)

More great stuff, y'awl!

Another day of the yellow Explorer, plus a small sodalite tower and a statue from my back porch.

While camping we bought a couple of salad kits.  One came with croutons and cheese that had to be opened.  We also decided to doctor with some turkey meat that had to be opened and cut into pieces.  Explorer pressed into service.

Day 18

Did a few things today with the scissors cutting tags and set up a wasp trap. Used the main blade to cut some food. No pics.

I only remembered to take a pic while relaxing after mowing the lawn. Such a peaceful sunny evening.

Day 18:

No use of the Explorer yesterday. It was a busy day getting the house ready to host some family who were still without power for the night.

As you can see, though, the rain has really made the garden plants shoot up.

I haven't had an appreciable quantity of rain in a month.  I wish you could have sent some down here.  Hope the family gets their power back soon.

More great photos, y'awl! And I would have happily sent some of yesterday's rain Alan's way. He could have had the hail, too, if he so desired.

I’m sure many Houstonians would’ve been happy to trade weather with you.

Great stuff from awl, and glad Alan finally got some rain. I still wish I could send my rain elsewhere...damn leaky roof.

Day 20: Sorry. It’s been a brutal last few days, mixed with having issues posting pictures to the board. But I think I’ve gotten my image size issues under control now.

So over the last couple days, I’ve assembled a raised bed garden and populated it, thanks to the main blade on my Explorer. I would also like to thank my main blade for helping me get to my rye and pumpernickel swirl this morning.

Day 19

Removed some old screws from part of the barn addition that’s falling apart. I mainly used my drill but did get the Explorer Philips in a few that were easier to remove.
