Zoid, how's New Zealand? Looks pretty. I live in Southern Oregon, USA, which is a pretty place, but one of the few places I would consider moving is NZ.

It is nice and small and has a lot to offer.
Though the location often means being a step or two behind other places.
We traveled before the kids and we'll probably do it again soon but for now we're happy being here.

But how can you be behind in the future?

Some of the downsides to over here are the lack of jobs locally, bums (it's a nice place to be homeless weather wise), and drugs (meth and marijuana, and weed is now legal).  I'm sure every place has it's cons, but do you have problems like that there?  I'd imagine fewer bums because it's harder to get to.

Oh, and as for being a step or two behind, fashion trends and the like tend to be about 2 years or so behind elsewhere, despite proximity to California.

And thanks for answering.  Maybe someday I'll have to pay it a visit.
