Hey I was in NY twice last year actually, but just to visit the wife's sister and her family.  In the Rome area, not sure if you know that area.

Knife laws are not good in NY. The ones in Canada are better.

Knife laws are not good in NY. The ones in Canada are better.

NY does have some stricter laws than other states but unless you are talking about NYC there are really no knife regulations whatsoever. Switchblades are illegal, that's all I can think of.

And Monrogue, I know the Rome area but not very well. I know Utica better which is nearby.

not bad for a cell phone camera,      one day I hope to get a DSLR.

yeah it took several tries to get the cell phone to take the picture I wanted, but I did like the outcome

Permission requirements also apply to any type of pocket knife over 6 cm (including Automatic Knives), spears over 15 cm in blade length, and Japanese halberds. All knives with a blade length over 6 cm are prohibited from being carried, under a crime law, with an exception for carrying for duty or other justifiable reasons. There is a penalty of up to 2 years prison or up to a ¥300000 yen fine.

Hmm, and it seems (don't know about reliability of the sources) the Wenger large blade on 85mm knives is 6,4 cm. So, be careful

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a place to take my Pocket Tool Chest. Wonder about buying a knife and taking it back to the hotel?

Bought a "Driver" today, which is basically an economy Recruit with nylon scales. I believe this name is just a Canadian thing as seems to be listed at Canadian Tire and MEC as a Driver, which I have never heard of.

the Tide at lake Michigan changed as I was trying to take the pictures,  my Knives got washed!  oh well, I will clean and oil them tonight
