Thing that is a shame is how today people shy away from the outdoors. I actually used to get in trouble if I did not have a pocket knife and a book of matches on me.Myself my brother and cousins all would spend most every night even the school ones camping in our yards. We would actually follow the receding snow line further from the home.At the age of about 12 we were trusted to walk by ourselves 1 mile through the woods to get to the shooting area our dads all set up and spend hours plinking away with our .22 and we never shot ourselves. Unfortunatly times are changing and I really would hate to be a kid today.
I know and my new kiddo actually told her Kindergarden teacher I build rifles in the basement. She called the cops.
Oh no she was right I was building a firearm... But it was a present for the Douglas police chief. a 1837 Hawken. 56 cal 42 inch barell and beatiful maple figure in the stock.
Sure I should have my camera back from the shop tommorrow. I will post picks of my personal hawken and the sister pistol. You will like them!! Plus I will also photo my cannon. God bless America! where you can still own a BP cannon!
Yah its a parrot rifle. with a bore that shoots beercans filled with mortar. It will shoot through 5 inches of oak at 300 yards!
nah Keep it locked up at work. It is really the only place in Mass that I really know what the area is like. My company has 154 acres and we have the Assebett river behind that with 300 acres of military land after that so it is a safe place to play.Have you taught your kid how to make charcloth yet?
Try this www.geocaching.comKids love it!!!! and you can get some nature in them while treasure hunting.
Been doing it now for 4 years and love every minute of it. I have found places that I never would have before, and real cheap to start. Just need a gps.
Micky D - What's a squadie?
I love that half-penny, Benner. That's a beauty. You can't give anymore character into a lighter than that. Sweet! (we need a thumb's-up icon!)
All I have is a small disposable cricket lighter. I have a lighter question if my cheapo lighter got soak in water if I wipe the water off will it work again? to cheap to try it on my lighter.
