He was absolutely brilliant.  He was the master of "gee, that's so simple why didn't I think of that" but he actually thought of it and did it.  Case in point, in the first few minutes of the movie they show a shot of what I believe to be a New York Special, where the sheath has the male part of a button snap and the handle has the female part of the button snap embedded into it.  Ingenious!  I'd love to own one, but having a knife worth more than my car is a little over my line.

Yeah, I agree.  The man was a genius and I doubt there are many knifemakers today that wouldn't cite him as one of their influences.

I'm looking forward to seeing the whole documentary.
