If you had to ask...  :P

Yeah I guess I should add some info to the OP.

It´s a Casio Triple sensor watch giving altimeter, Barrometer, Thermometer and Compass readings.
While the Altimeter is of limited use (it needs to be calibrated often to be precise as it has no Alti-Lock), all sensors work quite reliable and precise.
The watch is Solar powered and has the usual Casio Features (Alarm, stopwatch, timer iirc)

The Casio Protrek series is very rugged and the PRG 240 is around for quite some time, it is a sturdy watch - and at a good price in the link provided.

Casio watches, especially Protreks and G-Shocks are a nice addiction, btw.
When you have a Casio that fills your needs i strongly advise against researching for a one maybe a bit better...

If you are menatally strong, check out the Digital/ABC and G-Shock section on watchuseek.

you have been warned.

I still have my Pathfinder PAG...something..forget now, that I scored on Ebay a few years ago for like $70 (it was going for like $250 at the time). Was in MINT condition. Love that watch. The solar power is awesome, never needs a battery and still holds a charge great to this day. I would love to upgrade to a newer one just because, but have yet to see anywhere near the deal I got for mine.

  • Not all those who wander are lost.
Prices probably dropped due to a newer version, the Pro Trek PRW2500 at a low MSRP of $300.

Quote from: Casio
Introducing the new Pro Trek PRW2500, a high performance tool developed under the supervision of meteorologists to take on challenging environments. Like all triple sensor Pro Trek models, the PRW2500 features easy-one-tough operation of its Altimeter/Barometer, Compass and Thermometer. A reconfigured duplex LCD layout provides optimal upper & lower LCD layout for information at-a-glance when you're on the go. In addition to numerical and trend graph data, unique arrow icons help to indicate characteristic barometric pressure patterns. 200 meter water resistance has also been employed to ensure strong water resistance for river trekking & rafting where one would encounter strong water pressure. The addition of tide & moon graph/data provides convenient information for sea kayaking and fishing.

Now that's my kind of watch right there. I have zero use for any of that, but that's completely besides the point.

I have one of the older digital versions and a new analog version. They are excellent watches and I would highly recommend them. My altimeter/barometer seems to be better on the new one.

  • Little to the right...
Just wondering if anyone has bought one of these from Costco?  (They're on for $129 now)  I'm still in need of a good tough watch as my "unisex" (cough, cough girly watch) just looks plain stupid on my wrist.  Oh yeah, it's purple, not grey like I thought it was.  Good thing it was free with my Petro Points rewards.
