I have wanted an OHT for some time now but I just got a forester for Christmas so I wanted somthing a little different.  So just about an hour ago I ordered 2 new SAKs from Felinevet.  I ordered the GAK that I have wanted for a while and I also ordered an Alox orange cadet.  Anyone else have any cool stuff on the way?

I tried the "we're helping the kitties" line and she replied "The 2 cats we have now used to be strays so we're already helping the kitties!!".

Thats weird, I splashed out on an OHT last night aswell after putting it off for ages too and the one I clicked on with the cheapest postage to Ireland just happened to be a Felinevet auction.

I often wondered that myself, Ive never heard it from an official source but there are Leatherman cabinets full of Surges and Charges etc in every fishing shop as well as OHTs, as long as you're over 18 there doesnt seem to be a problem. Theres usually one of the revolving Victorinox cabinets in every jewelers and camping shop with OHTs in them aswell, the only reason I buy them from American suppliers is that they work out about 50% cheaper even with postage. I think it might be a case of British police being forced to crack down because of the media attention every stabbing seems to get in England compared to over here. Irish police definitely have the power to confiscate a SAK or multi if they dont like the look of the owner though, Ive seen that done a few times in Galway where theres a lot of outdoor drinking and tourists partying in the Summer.

Oh yeah, and army surplus stores selling fixed blades and swords and all that are totally unregulated, I know that because there were calls for new laws in the paper a few days ago after some guy got his arm hacked off at a wedding or something.

Yeah right, at least you can own a crossbow and/or pellet gun, none of that here, even catapults and slingshots are frowned upon

They are trying to class crossbows as firearms though, since the recent spate off killing's so it won't be long till there banned too

No cool stuff on the way, but I did get a GAK from Felinevet a few months back along with a few other SAKs.  (BTW, as many others have noted:  Felinevet provides great service, low prices, and fast shipping!)

A GAK was just much more appealing to me than a OHT.

GAK's overall appearance - due to the OD scales and its lack of the usual Vic logo - just seems really cool.  I already have more than enough knives with black scales.

That sucks. When I get some land I wanna build a full size trebuchet. Or more specifically, pay someone to build it for me.  I also want a pumpkin cannon.

I believe that you should be allowed to own any type of knife, gun, or pointed stick you want to.  Hell, I dont even care if you carry it wherever you go or sleep with it under your pillow.  As long as you arent killing the neighbor or his animals, I am all for it.

I doubt that will ever happen here.  It will just get worse and worse until we can't carry a blade at all.

Keep an eye out on Ebay.  I saw a used one for sale on Ebay last week.  It went for $57 used.  I didn't advertise the auction because Scibeer was already bidding on it.

Interesting, I was thinking where I could get one of those the other day.  I checked all over for them and I could not find squat.  If I happen to find one anytime soon I'll let you know.  If I go to the community auction I may find one there in which case I'll just buy it, at least I know someone will want it.

We just a had another U.S. University shooting today so I'm sure we will go through another round of trying to  clamp down on guns. When will we ever learn that the restrictive gun and knife laws are NOT the answer to violence. Geez!  sorry for the rant  .

My solution is to arm everyone.  If people were allowed to carry their legally owned guns, things like this would be reduced dramatically.  Armed citizens can police themselves.  No offense to those LEO's out there but the fact remains, although they are the ones that run toward the gunshots often they get there after the fact.  Obviously this is not their fault, they cannot be everywhere at the right time nor could they be.  However, if most of the population were armed the could at least fend for themselves until the police get there.
