Anyone else following the European Soccer Championship..?
Denmark beat Netherlands 1-0 yesterday   and earlier today the game between Spain and Italy ended 1-1.. :o
Right now there's a halftime break in the game between Ireland and Croatia, 1-2 so far.  :)

Haven't missed a game yet. :tu:

We just won 1-3, should have been more. :D

I loved the game Denmark - Netherlands game. I love Dutch football but they didn't use the chances they had and Denmark deserved to win.

Regretfully England doesn't have a great team this year, the fact that most of the players in the Premier League are from other nations and they don't invest as much in the young players has come to haunt them. That and the change of generations. France is much stronger now and England can be happy with a point from that game.

This tournament got me betting again :ahhh I haven't placed a bet in 3 years or so, yesterday I placed two. (btw, for the US guys, it's legal here in Europe)

Wow cracking game!!! Best of the tournament so far, imo. All in all, Portugal was better and the victory is well suited. AHB, you'll just have to win Germany now. It will take a good laugh if the group's underdogs (pt, dk) advance to the knock out stages.

But CR7 ::) :facepalm:

How could he miss all that. Twice, alone in front of the goal, and he misses. :shakeshead:

They should give him the punishment that the (2nd) Swedish goal keeper had: use is bottom as a target.

Now with the Dutch with 0 pts (2 defeats), Portugal and Denmark 3, and Germany 6, nothing is yet decided, but things are very hard to Holland. One of the initial favorites is struggling to get thru. The germans were very lucky on the 1st game but were way better on this one.

Should be a good game. Italia put up a good show against Spain while Croatia had an easy ride with Irland.

They haven't beaten us in 18 years  3 wins and 2 draws since 1994. And with a win we're through to the next round.

You got a good draw today -- so still unbeaten. Italy was stronger on the 1st half, then Croatia dominated the 2nd, imo.

And how about Spain 4 - 0 Ireland. From the teams I've seen (all except those of group D), "nuestros hermanos" is the strongest, hands down. Will it be a quiet run for them to renew the title?

We sucked in the first half, and were lucky Pletikosa (GK) was having an excellent day. But we pulled back in the second half and played great. It could have been easier if we weren't denied the pennalty in the first half. :/ This group will be a complicated one and we could end up going home after this round even if we draw with Spain. I'm hopeing we do well against them. We have a strange mentality, we usually play terrible against week oponnents but strong ones we can handle. :ahhh

With the groups phase ending, we're getting teams qualified for the quarter finals.
From yesterday: Greece and Czech Rep made it, Poland (the hosts) and Russia went off.
Today: Germany and Portugal got thru, Denmark and Holland are off.

There will be a Greece-Germany and Portugal-Czech on the quarters.

Incredible how Holland got 3 defeats in 3 games, as they have easily one of the 5 best teams in the world!
A special salute to the greeks: they got thru and they have a portuguese manager  :D

Tomorrow one of Spain, Croatia and Italy will be out, along with Ireland which is already mathematically out.
enki_ck, with Croatia playing against Spain, things will be though for you guys.

I was cheering for you as I was always a big fan of Dutch football, Ajax especially.

I hope I don't have to say that for our team tomorrow.
