Stihl Keychain Tool
on: June 15, 2012, 03:14:43 AM
I was at the local lawn/farm equipment dealer picking up some trimmer line and an Echo pole saw attachment for my Echo PAS 266 powerhead, when I saw this little Stihl tool.  How could I resist?

It's pretty cute, with a Phillips, Flat driver, can opener with small flat driver, blade and small light, it seemed to fill a niche.

How well does it work?

Well, the blade was pants.  I had to take a file to it just to get it to a semblance of sharp.  I'm hoping the steel is hard enough that it will hold an edge for a while.

The drivers are fine, but they are the  wrong size for Stihl chainsaws!  How wacky is that?

Finally the opener is merely adequate, but nothing  special.

IMO, not a tool upto the Stihl name, but I think it is just worth the $10 price tag.  But not much more.

I also have a Stihl tool, but not a keychain one.  I've been using it for a few years and it's held up well.
